The event will also be the grand opening of this historical venue. Members will enjoy complimentary beer, wine, soda, hors d'oeuvres and enter to win wonderful door prizes while exploring the historic building. The event is free for Chamber members and non-members, as well as guests, and is the perfect opportunity to make new contacts and meet up with fellow Chamber members. Built in 1879, and most recently known as the “Moonshine Theater,” the first floor of The Leonard also served as a hardware store, fittingly named Leonard’s Hardware. According to a recent WNEP story, the venue was touted as the first vaudeville theatre on the east coast. Both the store and theater have been empty for just over a decade. Over the summer, residents were allowed to vote on Facebook to decide what the new name of the venue was going to be. The voting eventually produced two final names: The Leonard and The Anthracite. “The Leonard” Theater Hosts The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Business Card Exchange

SCRANTON, PA – The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Fall Business Card Exchange will be held at “The Leonard” Theatre in downtown Scranton on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The event will also be the grand opening of this historical venue.

Members will enjoy complimentary beer, wine, soda, hors d'oeuvres and enter to win wonderful door prizes while exploring the historic building.
