- A brand new partnership between 13&9 and Wever & Ducré

(Graz, Austria – March 2015) Two dynamic companies, 13&9 and Wever & Ducré, will be presenting the ROCK COLLECTION with new editions at EUROLUCE 2015, 14. April - 19. April 2015, Hall 13, Booth Nr. C14, Milan, Italy.

13&9 is an Austrian based interdisciplinary design collective founded by 2015 Contract Magazine´s Designer of the Year, architect Martin Lesjak, INNOCAD Architecture CEO, and product and fashion designer Anastasia Su. The company’s interdisciplinary approach has facilitated working with specialist partners creating products in the sphere of lighting, furniture, fashion and accessories.

Thanks to a wide range of influences, the overall results are unique designs that combine functional necessities and innovations with conceptual aesthetics that also offer an emotional component which adds to the product value, “the soul” of 13&9 Design.

Recently introduced to the market, the Rock Collection de-monstrates 13&9’s mission to think independently and adapt materials for applications beyond their intended purposes - such as using natural stone to create round shale shades for lighting. Exemplifying a new interpretation of shading solution - Rock Light was a finalist at Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Award 2014.

By showcasing new editions of the Rock Collection at EUROLUCE 2015 in Milan, 13&9 is excited to move forward working with the Belgium lighting firm, Wever & Ducré, one of the most renowned and cutting edge lighting firms in their region which will now offer the Rock Collection to the international market.

Rock Collection

Sleek, modular and attractive, the Rock Collection is well sui-ted for hospitality settings and would be ideal for lounges, lobbies, restaurants, hotel or living rooms.

The combination of the lamps and tables enables playful set-tings through the variety of sizes and proportions and allows versatile applications. The collection also represents the highest quality in craftsmanship.

This contemporary lighting is defined by its minimalistic design and the innovative application of a unique material used for the shades - stone. The shades are made from razor-thin veneers of natural shale offered in three different stone surfaces. Since sculptural variations occur naturally in stone, every shade is individual and allows for subtle, sculptural lighting.

The rough split, thin and flexible surface enables natural luminance and various transparencies creating a unique piece, a sensual experience and a new interpretation of shading solutions, using solid material.

The series will be showcasing new editions of the Rock Light at EUROLUCE 2015 in Milan - table lamps and wall lamps, which augment the initial introduction of pendant, ceiling and floor lamps.

Founded in January 2013 in Graz, Austria, 13&9 is a product design firm based on partnership between 2015 Contract Magazine´s Designer of the Year, architect Martin Lesjak, INNOCAD Architecture CEO, and fashion designer Anastasia Su. The interdisciplinary team’s cooperation with specialist partners has led to creating product collections from concept through production in sphere of lighting, furniture, fashion and accessories.
