J o hnny W i nter F r i d a y , June 19 @ 8 :30 p . m. For over 30 years, Johnny Winter has been a guitar hero without equal. Signing to

Columbia records in 1969, Johnny immediately laid out the blueprint for his fresh take

on classic blues; a prime combination for the legions of fans just discovering the blues

via the likes of Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. Throughout the '70s and '80s, Johnny

was the unofficial torchbearer for the blues, championing and aiding the careers of his

idols like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker.

T a j M a h a l S a tur d a y , June 20 @ 8 :30 p . m . Composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Taj Mahal is one of the most prominent

and influential figures in late 20th century blues and roots music. Though his career

began more than four decades ago with American blues, he has broadened his artistic

scope over the years to include music representing virtually every corner of the world.

What ties it all together is his insatiable interest in musical discovery. Over the years,

his passion and curiosity have led him around the world, and the resulting global

perspective is reflected in his music.
