Michelin starred chefs Quique Dacosta (Quique Dacosta, Dénia/Spain) and Sybille Schönberger (Hessler, Maintal/Germany) collaborate with Hansgrohe to bring to life the movement of a modern chef in a busy kitchen. The light shows their Better Flow in the Kitchen with the Hansgrohe Metris Select kitchen mixer.

More freedom of Movement in the Kitchen

Hansgrohe’s new kitchen mixer, Metris Select and Talis Select, now

combine a pull-out spout with the Hansgrohe Select technology. This

innovative solution allows turning the water flow on and off by simply

pushing the Select button, ergonomically positioned on top of the pull-out

spout. Temperature and water volume can be preset by turning the lever

handle. This considerably improves the freedom of movement and

ensures a Better Flow in the Kitchen.

Michelin star chefs Quique Dacosta and Sybille Schönberger

Hansgrohe teamed up with Michelin starred chefs Quique Dacosta from

Spain and Sybille Schönberger from Germany to visualise the concept of

Freedom of Movement in the Kitchen. Sybille Schönberger became

Germany’s youngest Michelin star chef in 2004 when she took over the

helm of the Hessler restaurant in Maintal/Germany. Gentle flavours and

soft contrast characterise her cuisine today. Quique Dacosta is

recognized all around the world for his artistic expression of the kitchen.

He was awarded three Michelin stars in 2012. On the collaboration with

Hansgrohe, he said: “It was the company more than anything that

convinced me to participate. Hansgrohe is committed to excellence,

design, research and quality, all values close to my own cooking.”

Light Art visualises Freedom of Movement in the Kitchen

Used to the hectic kitchen environment, each chef created one of their

signature dishes – La Bruma from Quique Dacosta and Roasted Salmon

Tartare With Coriander Yoghurt on Wild Herb Salad from Sybille


Schönberger – while attached to special light sensors that allowed the

Lichtfaktor team to track and capture their movements. These movements

were then brought to life in the light art photography and film. “The light art

is something entirely new and creative for me. Chefs are artists in their

own way – creative people”, Sybille Schönberger commented. “The photo

shoot was great, and the pictures really captured the frantic and beautiful

energy in the kitchen.”

Light art captures three Michelin starred chef Quique Dacosta’s movement as he creates his signature dish La Bruma with Hansgrohe. He moves the pull-out spout with swivel function to the dish and turns on the hot water flow pouring on dry ice by using the Select button of the Hansgrohe Metris Select kitchen mixer.

Light Art commissioned by Hansgrohe SE shows movement of modern chefs around the kitchen mixer. Hansgrohe Metris Select combines a pull-out spout with the innovative Select technology.
