TOOLBOX: THE NEXT STEP IN OUR JOURNEY2019 HAS BEEN A KEY YEAR FOR TOOLBOX, WITH SIGNIFICANT TRANSFORMATION PROJECTS COMPLETED AND BROKER MIGRATION WORKSTREAMS THROUGHOUT. WITH YEAR-END APPROACHING THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO REFLECT ON THESE ACHIEVEMENTS AND WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our firm principals, brokers and PRIMIS colleagues for everything they do. Without this collaborative support and teamwork, we would not be able to deliver these fantastic achievements.
Let’s re-visit these achievements and look forward to what’s to come…
2019MIGRATION
There has been a continuous migration of brokers:
Embrace Financial Services – 317 (6 waves of migration)
Advanced Mortgage Funding – 413 (11 waves of migration)
 Linear – 24
 First2Protect – 55
First Complete – 1,000 (10 waves of migration)
 RSC New Homes – 32
 Mortgages First – 38
 Insurance First – 10
With existing PTFS brokers (481) and the above migrated brokers (1,889) we now have 2,370 brokers and 500 administration users operating on Toolbox.
To accommodate these migrations, we have also migrated in the region of 24 million documents, which is an amazing achievement!
TOOLBOX RELEASES – DEVELOPMENTS
We operate a continuous cycle of development through a schedule of Toolbox releases. Many of these developments have been a direct result of brokers’ suggestions – thank you for your feedback! We’re proud that we can implement changes within weeks, bringing solutions to you quickly. Here are some key stats on our developments this year:
 10 Toolbox deployments
 Over 564 developments deployed
106 of these developments were fixes
80% of all changes are development
12 patch releases to ensure infrastructure is up-to-date and disruption is limited
05 | DECEMBER 2019
AWARDS
We’re delighted that Toolbox was shortlisted for Mortgage Finance Gazette’s ‘Best use of Technology’ award and won London Institute of Banking and Finance’s (LIBF) ‘Best Technology Initiative – United Kingdom’!
TOOLBOX APPLICATION INFRASTRUCTURE
Whilst making all of these fantastic improvements, we’re not compromising on security. This year we have changed the infrastructure behind the platform to provide increased scalability, flexibility and performance, whilst retaining robust security through a multi-layered protection framework.
In addition, we continuously monitor our robustness through enhanced reporting services, procedures and processes to keep your data and your clients’ data safe. As well as our own multi-layered protection framework, we use fully integrated support services which monitor and protect data 24/7.
2020APPLICATION PROGRAMME INTERFACE (API)
Next year we will focus on developing APIs. This will provide connectivity of selected CRM and software solutions, increasing effectiveness and efficiency for you.
We are initially focusing our development on three APIs:
 Introducer Services
 Broker Services
 Client Services
Look out for more information coming soon!
CLIENT PORTAL
The development of a client portal is a core focus for 2020. The facility will revolutionise the advice process by allowing you and your clients to:
 Communicate via messages
 Exchange/transfer documents securely
Complete elements of the advice process online
The current time to complete a mortgage case, dependant on complexity, is between 4 to 6 hours (from PRIMIS broker feedback). The development of a client portal will aim to reduce this timeline by 2 to 3 hours.
This has be designed to enable usage on iPads, iPhones and android devices to make it even easier for you.
There will be a sneak preview of the new initiative at our Recognising Excellence in January. Keep your eyes peeled for more details coming soon!

Vitality partners with SuperCarers. In a UK market-fi rst, the partnership will give all members and their families access to care advice and care booking services at no extra cost, along with a discount on care fees.
Navigating the UK care system when you or a loved one are diagnosed with a later life condition in itself can be a big challenge.
Knowing how and where to access the appropriate care is critical, and without the right support and guidance it can be overwhelming – especially in a time of crisis. To help with these challenges, we’re partnering with SuperCarers, a leading provider of care support services.
All new and existing VitalityLife, VitalityHealth and VitalityInvest members will have access to this benefi t, as will their immediate family. It includes access to a care advice service run by experts who can give advice on a range of topics, including what support is available, what services are suited to specifi c care needs, and what products could help with independence.
It also provides access to a care booking service, which uses technology to match members to the most suitable care solutions. Finally, members and their families get 20% off on the fi rst £1,000 of ongoing care booked through SuperCarers. This is increased to 20% off the fi rst £3,000 for those members with one of our Later Life Options.
"We're really excited to be the fi rst insurer to offer care support to its members. Through this unique partnership, we now give our members holistic support when it comes to later life. Firstly, we encourage members to look after their health, which can help reduce their chances of developing conditions like dementia.
Next, our Later Life Options can provide them with much needed fi nancial support, and fi nally the benefi ts we offer together with SuperCarers can help them navigate the care system." concludes Deepak Jobanputra, Deputy CEO of VitalityLife.
VitalityLife offers holistic support for later life care.
