• Units #1, 2 and 3 remained in reserve shutdown during the month due to market conditions.
• Unit #4 was made available for full capacity for approximately 134 hours during the month due to market conditions.(49.8% capacity factor)
• Unit #5 was made available for full capacity for approximately 54 hours during the month due to market conditions.(62.6% capacity factor)
GenerationWind RFP: A total of 104 wind projects were submitted from 22 different wind developers. The wind projects are currently being reviewed and the goal is to report an award of a Power Purchase
Agreement at the May Board Meeting.

For the Month of February 2017:
• Renewable energy contributed 39.2% of
OPPD’s retail energy sales.
• Wind capacity factor was 53.9%
For 2017 year-to-date:
• Renewable energy contributed 34.9% of
OPPD’s retail energy sales.
• Wind capacity factor is 49.1%

WAPA Update
OPPD submitted the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) as part of the agreement with the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) on February 24th. Since the submission, OPPD has responded to one question from WAPA and expects to receive the "acknowledgement letter" from WAPA shortly. The IRP process is one of the planning tools utilized to create flexibility and adaptability in responding to changes in the industry.

from Site Selection Magazine.
Heat the Street Run and Walk for Warmth
• The 10th Annual Heat the Streets Run and Walk for Warmth held on
March 4th.
• 639 total participants, exceeding goal 28%. A big thank you to the 232
participants that were a part of the OPPD team.

A total of 14 schools from across eastern Nebraska entered this year’s
Marshmallow Challenge. Congratulations to the top three teams!
First place: Reagan Elementary of Omaha, 36.25 inches
Second place: St. Margaret Mary’s “Spartans #1” of Omaha, 33 inches
Third place: Portal Elementary’s “Dobby Demons” of LaVista, 31 inches.

Nebraska State Robotics Expo
Members of the OPPD Society of Engineers represented OPPD at the Nebraska State Robotics Expo at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum on Saturday, February 18. They engaged the youth with its hand-crank generator where the youth learned about LED bulbs efficiency compared to an incandescent bulb. There were about 500 youths in attendance. OPPD engineers included Laura manning, Dave Insinger, Neal Faltys, Nate Staroscik and Ryan David.
People/TeamSarpy Chamber YPG Supermarket Sweep supports tri-city food pantry
• OPPD Young Professional Group formed a team to compete in the Supermarket Sweep.
• All proceeds from team registration fees went to Tri-City Food Pantry, which serves people struggling with hunger in the communities of Ralston, La Vista, Papillion and surrounding areas.
• Donations at the event were also accepted, bringing the total funds raised to just over $700. Food items were also collected.
