of Media.
Military police action: The War Powers Resolution requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days.
Executive Privilege-resist certain subpoenas and other interventions by the legislative and judicial branches of government due to security concerns.
Roles of the President Chief of State: represents the U.S. at important
ceremonies, symbolic acts, inspire the nation.
Executive: carries out laws, controls the Department of Justice, chooses government officials and workers.
Diplomat: talks to other countries, makes treaties, foreign policy.
Commander-in –Chief: commands the army, navy, air force and marines.
Roles of the President
Chief Legislator: suggests laws and tries to get congress to pass them. Veto or sign bills.
Chief of the Party: leader of political party, try to get other members of party elected, raise money.
Guardian of the economy: make sure that the economy is working well, employment, taxes, prosperity, business concerns.
