Eugene Meehan QCSupreme Advocacy LLPOttawa, Ontario

Meehan obtained his LL.B. from the University of Edinburgh in 1975, his LL.M. from McGill University in 1976, and a Doctor of Civil Laws from McGill University in 1984. Eugene is a practicing member of six Canadian Bars, was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1999, and served as the National President of the Canadian Bar Association in 1999-2000. From 1978 to 1986, he was Professor of Law at the University of Alberta, and was Professor of Law at the University of Ottawa from 1986 to 1990. He served as Executive Legal Officer to the Supreme Court of Canada from 1990 to 1992. He is a co-founder of Supreme Advocacy LLP.

Originally presented in 2013 for the Law Society of Upper Canada, this program features the notable Eugene Meehan QC. Writing in a strategic way is as critical as oral advocacy, and is fast becoming an absolute foundation for solving legal disputes and winning legal battles.

This program will teach you how to:

• Write in a tactical and winning way• Move beyond reliance on boilerplate precedents,

including “before/during/after examples”
