STAGE RIGHT of Texas, resident theatre company at the historic Crighton Theatre in downtown Conroe, presents Shrek – The Musical July 10 – 26, 2015. The show is directed by Tina Cafeo. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek – The Musical is a TONY Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Mod-ern Millie, Caroline or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage, and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.

What better message could young people hear than ‘what makes us special makes us strong’? Too often young people feel they don’t fit in if they are different in some way due to size, physical lim-itations, color, ethnicity, religion, etc. While a very funny and light-hearted show, Shrek – The Musical also subtly brings forth a powerful message: we are all different and our differences are what make us strong especially when we all join together for a common good.
