Since 1982, Youth Opportunities Unlimited has been empowering teens to succeed in school, in the workplace and in life through entrepreneur-ship, employment and education. We offer in-school, after-school, and summer job programming. The majority of the at-risk teens (14-19) we serve live in low and moderate income households and are statistically expected to drop out of high school. The Y.O.U. programs and services provide teens with the tools to escape the cycle of poverty and transform their lives via the most direct and cost-effective route: academic and economic success.

Y.O.U. offers services and programs to the youth of Northeast Ohio. JOG (Jobs for Ohio Graduates) is an in-school, for-credit program that teaches teens the importance of attaining and retaining employment, and the importance of high school graduation for the purpose of becoming a successful adult. JUMP (Jobs Unlimited Mentoring Program) is an after-school program that teaches teens employability and resiliency skills. Both of these programs include a Career Coach for all participants whose role is to teach the research-based curriculum and mentor the youth through their high school careers. The teens we serve in JOG and JUMP attain an 80-90% graduation rate. The E CITY (Entrepreneurship: Connecting, Inspiring, and Teaching Youth) curriculum is focused on the futures of the students by teaching them financial literacy and the entrepreneurial mindset. Teens learn mathematical and presentation skills, how to write a business plan, and how to recognize a business opportunity. Pathways Internship Program: Places teens with mentors in 4-8 week work experiences that align with career pathways and allow them to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to a professional work environment. Youth Resource Center: Funded by Cuyahoga County and operated by Y.O.U., the YRC in downtown Cleveland is a place for youth ages 14-23 to for help with their academic, training, post-secondary and employment needs. Services include: connection to education and training, work readiness career exploration and support with barriers to employment. And lastly, we offer a summer workforce program where we find subsidized paid employment for 700 to 3,500 young adults depending on the amount of funding available through foundations, city, county, state and federal dollars.

Y.O.U. also offers corporations many ways to make a difference in the lives of the Y.O.U. teens, specifically by offering jobs and internships or through volunteering. Volunteer opportunities include helping with our Resume Writing Project, conducting mock interviews, business plan coaching, business plan competition judging, hosting field trips, and guest speaking.
