2Guests Arrive
Guests arrive from their internationalflights into Cairo Airport in Egypt. Oneof our staff will greet guests at theairport and transfer them to their hotel.
We give our guests the opportunity torest from their long journey to Egypt,and to soak up the local atmosphere.
We will host a welcome dinner for ourguests in the evening, to introduce theWatcher’s team and our the tour teamto all guests.
Our first day takes us to some amazingsites near Giza. We depart early forSaqqara, where you will get to see theStep Pyramid, the Pyramid of Teti, theSerapeum, the Mastabas of Ti andMereruka, and the recently re-openedPyramid of Unas!
After lunch we will proceed to Dahshurwhere we will see the Bent Pyramid andthe Red Pyramid, followed by Memphis -the former capital of Egypt, where youwill find the colossal reclining statue ofRamses II, and the alabaster sphinx.

We will have an early morningdeparture from the hotel for Cairoairport (around 4 AM), to fly toLuxor in Upper Egypt. Upon arrivalin Luxor, we will check into our Nilecruise ship for our 7-night sail downthe Nile on a 5 star cruise ship.Lunch will be served on the cruiseship.
After lunch, we will visit KarnakTemple complex, which is over 100hectares of temples, statues andmonuments left by manygenerations of pharaohs.
At dusk, we will visit Luxor Templeand marvel at the grand and colossalstatues of Ramesses II at the gatesof the temple, as well as the giantintact pillars, and statues of othergreat rulers such as Tutankhamun.

After breakfast, we will visit the WestBank, where the Valley of the Kings andHatshepsut’s temple are located. We willalso visit the less visited, but impressiveRamesseum, and Colossi of Memnon; twomassive stone statues of the PharaohAmenhotep III, who reigned in Egyptduring the Dynasty XVIII.

For an unbeatable view of Luxor and theNile, why not take a flight in a Hot AirBalloon over the West Bank? Enjoy thesites of the West Bank from above, awayfrom the daytime crowds, and in thepeaceful glow of dawn.
As you gently rise into the dawn sky,witness the sun rise over the East Bankand the Nile, illuminating the city, theancient monuments and mountains.
Please note, the admission ticket to theValley of the Kings gives you access tothree tombs, however, Tutankhamen’stomb is an additional 120 LE andRameses IV’s tomb is 60 LE.Photography tickets are 300 LE and arerequired if you wish to take photosinside the tombs. Up until recently, nophotos were permitted inside the tombs.
Additional admission tickets can bepurchased by guests when we arrive atthe Valley of the Kings. These are atyour own cost.
The afternoon will be spent relaxing onthe cruise ship.

5
Early in the morning we will take ahorse drawn carriage to visit EdfuTemple – the temple dedicated toHorus, and considered one of thebest-preserved temples in Egypt.
The inscriptions on its walls provideimportant information on language,myth and religion during the Greco-Roman period in ancient Egypt, thecurrent temple was built on the siteof an earlier, smaller temple alsodedicated to Horus.
The afternoon will be free as we sailto Aswan.

Our morning starts with a short tripon a small boat to the temple ofPhilae, located on an island in LakeNasser. The temple is dedicated tothe Goddess Isis, and is a beautifultemple in picturesque surroundings.
We will then visit the UnfinishedObelisk, the quarry which was usedto quarry red, grey and black graniteto construct ancient monuments andstatues across Egypt. At this stopyou can get up close and see thelargest obelisk that was everyquarried - albeit unfinished as theobelisk cracked during the quarryingprocess.
We will return to the cruise ship forlunch, then sail on a boat toElephantine Island. The island has arich history dating back to the 1st
Dynasty!

the convoy of tourist buses
on the 300km journey south.

We stop in Kom Ombo to visit Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to Sobek and Horus. Thisis the only temple dedicated to two main gods.
We will also visit the Crocodile Museum and see some mummified crocodiles that werefound at the temple.
We sail for most of the day and guests can relax onboard and enjoy the ships facilities.

9We depart early for Dendera Temple, located 60km north of Luxor. Dendera was a site for chapels or shrines from the beginning ofancient Egypt’s history, and the beautiful main temple is dedicated to Hathor. Dendera is where the famous “light bulbs” can befound.
We then continue onto Abydos, which is famous for the kings list, the hieroglyphs of Abydos and the Osirion at the rear of thetemple. We will have a long journey back to Luxor in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we will disembark our cruise ship andreturn to Cairo, flying back early in the morning.
We will arrive at the Giza hotel around lunch time, andafter checking in all our guests, the group will meet forlunch.
The afternoon is free for guests to relax or partake inany additional activities we offer. These activities areoptional and at an additional cost.

11In the morning, we visit the Giza Plateau,- home of three of the most majesticpyramids in the world! You will have theopportunity to take some breathtakingphotos of the pyramids, the Sphinx, andthe Valley Temple, whilst our guideexplains the history of this ancient andmysterious site. You will have theopportunity to go inside the GreatPyramid, but the Pyramid of Menkaureand the Solar boat museum are optionaland at an additional cost.
We then make a quick stop at a Papyrusshop, where they will demonstrate howpapyrus has been made for manymillennia.
After lunch, we will visit the EgyptianMuseum, where our guide will explainsome of the 160,000 objects that arehoused there, covering 5,000 years ofEgypt’s history.
You will have the opportunity to visit theMummy exhibit which is an additionalticket costing about 120 LE. Photographywithin the museum is allowed, thoughyou will need to purchase your own ticketfor photography.

We depart early for the Fayoumregion to visit the Hawarapyramid and the Meidumpyramid - a unique structurebuilt at the end of the thirddynasty.
Hawara Pyramid is a mud brickpyramid which was constructedby Amenemhat III in the 12th
Dynasty. This pyramid was stillutilised in the Roman-Grecoperiod, with papyri from the 1st
and 2nd century AD being foundhere by William Flinders Petriewho excavated the site back in1888.

The Meidum pyramid is though to be the second constructed pyramidafter Djoser’s, and was constructed by Huni, the last pharaoh of the 3rd
Dynasty. There are also some mud brick mastabas next to the Meidumpyramid which we will have the opportunity to visit.

13
We have saved something truly specialfor our final day of the tour. We willtravel 188km north east the city ofTanis. Tanis is a relatively unknownarchaeological site and is seldom visitedby tour groups, however, it is amongEgypt's greatest archaeological sites.Once the capital of all Egypt, thetreasures found in Tanis's royal tombshave yielded artefacts on par with thetreasures of Tutankhamun.
Thought to date from the 21st to 22nd
Dynasties and the vast amount of silverand gold artefacts discovered thereshows that the pharaohs of that timewere regarded as highly important.
Whilst the journey here is long, this istruly an important historical site to visit,which is why we have added this to ourtour!
Upon our return to Giza, we will host aspecial farewell dinner for our guests,where we can all reflect on all theamazing places we visited on tour.

As our tour concludes, we farewellall our guests and transfer themfrom the hotel to Cairo Internationalairport for their flights home.
