Collection System Infrastructure Previous model focused on larger pipes; contained about 71 miles of pipe,

or roughly 25% of the system For this update, objective was an all-pipes model Initial model construction

GIS database was primary data source Nodes (manholes and cleanouts) identified using City’s atlas map

numbering system, e.g. MH-D07-010 Connectivity generally good Some missing rim elevations – populated using ground topography Many missing invert elevations – populated using pipe slopes, record

drawings, and typical depths (sources noted) Previous model used as reference

Tributary Areas Based on Flow Monitoring Approximately 50 basins were defined based on previous work and were

refined for each flow monitor point Used tools in InfoSewer to generate Theissen polygons around each

manhole to generate sub-basins at each manhole Flow parameters (such as diurnal flow patterns and rainfall response

factors) that applied to a basin were applied to the sub-basins within that basin
