RSS feeds - RSS feeds will be offered, available from the Browse, Search Result, Cited By Result, Topic Alerts, Alerts, Journal/Book Series Home, and Article pages. The Search feed, Topic feed, Citation Feed and Article feed, as they will be named, all contain AiP (when available).

‘Cited by’ in Scopus – in the Article pages on ScienceDirect, it will be shown how many times the article is cited in Scopus. Clicking on the ‘Cited by in Scopus’ link will take the user to Scopus.

High Quality Artwork – in the Article pages of a selected number of journals and book series will be a 3rd option to thumbnails and full image will be displayed next to the thumbnail images.

Inward linking simplification - OpenURL standard 1.0 instead of 0.1. For current linking partners and customers nothing will change. But new partners can build links more easily and more flexibly (eg. linking to combined issues will be easier).

What is the h-Index?

• Performance measurement tool for scientific authors (similar idea to journal impact factors but for individuals)

• Established by Jorge Hirsch at UC San Diego

“A scientist has index h if h of his/her Np papers have

at least h citations each, and the other (Np- h) papers

have no more than h citations each.”

Source: Hirsch, J. E. (2005, September 29). An index to quantify an individual’s scientific research output. Retrieved from http://arxiv.org/abs/physics/0508025

• Plots citations per article

• Incision = h-index

• Shows low & highly cited-by counts

• Completely transparent

• The date range can change
