An ecological approach in training

courses for migrant people

Two reference models in a Two reference models in a training/educational training/educational

relationshiprelationship

ALLOPOIETICAALLOPOIETICA = within a relationship one

subject defines the other one

You are:

young, with no title, with no competences, with THIS problem…..

AUTOPOIETICA AUTOPOIETICA = within a relationship each subject

defines himself while the other one uses that definition as his reference

I am:

adult, with this title, with no competences, with THAT problem…..

THIS DISTINCTION COUNTS

especially in the relationship between different cultures

And also in the relatioship between different insitutions that need to co-operate

Our proposal related to the first point

(the relationship between teacher and man/woman from different cultural

backgrounds )

A special attention in the definition of the personal,

professional and training history of the student.

As far as training activities with migrant people are concerned, it is necessary

(more than in other cases) to co-operate with the offices that deal with all their

primary needs (sanitary, legal, assistance boards…).

Our proposal related to the second point

(the relationship between different institutions that need to co-operate).

We must create a map of the relationships already existing in the migrant’s world and then define the various responsibilities. The map points out the net.

• that the knots in the net (pointed out by the map) have specified and shared their connections and their possible interactions.

• That the map is a resource for both teacher and student.

To build and run a good net means:

The building of a good map and the definition of effective

relationships allows to face immediately the emergencies that often push the migrant student to

give up his training program.
