As you can see in the images above, I have changed the gradient of my magazine and the direction it goes in. The previous colour that I had chosen for my double page spread did not have a rocky look to it and was a bit to dramatic to be the background colour of my magazine. Therefore drawing away the focus and attention of my audience on to the background colour of my magazine, instead of my text and images. I also changed the font and the colour of my double page spread and my subheading, this is because the previous font which I had decided on using was too dull and to classical to be on a rock magazine, the text also used to much colour on it and making it look more like a poster instead of a magazines double page spread. I repositioned my text as it was taking up most of the space of my double page spread leaving hardly any space for my text to be placed. In my final product I placed some quotes in my double page spread to take up the space I had left over to make the page look fuller. I've also changed my main image direction as before After Before

I've also changed my main image direction as before her arm and the guitar took up some of the space for my text making it hard for me to arrange my text there for making me change the direction my model is facing, also by changing it I looks as if she is staring at the audience making them feel more apart of the magazine.

Exclusive interview

NEW ALBUM:

In my previous attempt of my front cover I had to change the font for my masthead as it was to simple and did not have a rock themed look to it. As my magazine was inspired by ‘Kerrang’ magazine I decided on getting a smashed look to my masthead. This made my font also contrast with the name of my magazine “SlamRock” which creates a popular image of a rock musician slamming/smashing the guitar on the ground. In my draft of my front cover I had to move some of my text away from my models face as it was hiding her face, I had to make the text smaller and move it down a bit, whilst also changing the font making it look more bold and clearer to look at. To make my magazine look more fuller I added more text including advertisement to my front cover as well as a second image to go with. To make my magazine look more professional I decided to make a small bored at the bottom of my front cover telling my audience what to see in my magazine.

In my first draft of my contents page I had used a dark shade of grey as my background colour which did not make my magazine look have that rocky look to it, as my background colour made my magazine look very dull. That s why I changed my final draft to have a jet black background which faded in with my picture of my model, as I used brightness and hue to make my models hair appear more brighter darker, this makes my model appear to have more healthy skin as is and make her fade in with the background. I also changed my font as it looked boring and dull which will loss the attention of my audience therefore I used the font “nervous” which distorted my text and made my it look more interesting to look at, making it go with the theme of my magazine to make my heading look more appealing I also underlined the top section of my heading add making it bolder. My contents page had a lot of space left over so I added the page numbers of my contents page.
