1) First and foremost, there must be the awareness among the parents about this problem. They must not ignore, the unusual behavior of their children, thinking that it’s only a negative attitude.

2) Bipolar is all about mood swings. And the patient needs someone, with whom they can share their feelings. So, the parents first need to make themselves, their (patient) best friends.

3) Parents should not feel embarrass in joining any awareness program.

4) Parents should make a chart and to keep a note of their activities on a regular basis.

5) They must start surfing internet more and more, to see what all can be aspects of the problem.

6) They must consult people, having their experiences that can be really helpful.

7) They must encourage their children to see the positive side of everything.

8) They must encourage their children to move and interact freely in the society.

9) They must create a healthy diet-chart, so that they can give proper nutrition to the children.

10) They must take the help of the psychiatrist to give proper counseling to their children.

11) They must try to understand the mood-swing of the child, and ask him freely about the thoughts, going in his mind.

12) Parents must provide them a peaceful home.

13) Parents must try to counsel their activities.

14) Parents should try to understand their present condition, and must tell them, what to do next?

15) If something goes wrong, instead of their efforts, they must keep calm and see how the other things can be prevented.

16) They must check to make sure your child is not experiencing side effects from the medication/s. If your child is experiencing problems with the medications take them back to their health care provider that is prescribing the medication.

17) Use your child’s school and teachers as a resource. Treatment is much more successful if everyone that is involved in your child’s life is aware of the problem and working to help him/her.

1) Take them for mental health treatment with a qualified mental health professional that knows how

to work with children with Bipolar Disorder. A therapist/counselor can help the family work

through problems with behavior, communication, and is a good source of information.

2) Keep a log or journal of their mood shifts, this is particularly helpful if your child is in therapy in

order to identify what triggers the mood swings and exacerbates symptoms.

3) Be patient with your child and encourage him/her to talk about how they are feeling. Also,

encourage them to seek help and discuss treatment in a positive way.

4) They should adopt the help of online doctor’s support.

5) They must try to analyze whether the cause of Bipolar Disorder, is hierarchical or not.

6) Making a list of “signs” that tell the parent the child is doing well.

7) If the child is worried and has no one to talk to, he or she can call the Kids Help Phone at 1-800-

8) If there is an emergency and the child needs someone there fast because he or she is worried that

someone might get hurt or is hurt, the child can call 911.

tendency in them.

6) They must try to stop them in committing anything wrong.

7) Let him know that you are there for him in good times and in bad. But also let him know that he

needs to take care of himself. That means taking her meds, going to therapy, etc.

8) Let him know that you care about him, will support him, and are willing to talk to him about it

whenever he wants.

And ultimately, they must try to keep them calm and positive.

1) Stop criticizing the child in the neighborhood, market, school etc. about his past mistakes.

2) Spreading awareness in each home, where someone is diagnosed with Bipolar.

3) Must not feel afraid or show him any type of discomfort, feeling that he is not mentally fit.

4) Government should encourage the society and give more and more awareness.

5) Youth and Doctors can launch a blog, where everybody is free to express his/her views relate to

BIPOLAR.

6) Even, social sites, like FACEBOOK can be used to promote and support the people, with Bipolar.

IDEA NO: 1 ---- Parents must be their first mentors/friends

Explanation: Parents can make themselves indulge with them. This will help them, to examine

their mood swings, and can help them, with the critical thoughts.

IDEA NO: 2 ----- Friends, the next parents

Explanation: Friends, too can play a very vital role in extracting their thought process and make

them comfortable to face the outside world.

IDEA NO: 3 ------ Society’s influence (Launching the online SUPPORT BLOGS AND SITES for BP

Explanation: With the help of such blogs, millions of people all over the world, can come on a

common platform, to share each other ideas and experiences.
