Motifs and symbols

As like in many horror trailers or films there are recurring objects or key symbols that are shown throughout. We decided to do the same thing so that the audience would realise when someone is going to be killed or tortured.

Challenging forms and conventions

Music/Sound effects

We didn’t use horror genre music throughout the whole trailer.

We used some sound effects but over background music

We used a hip hop genre of music that is played throughout our trailer. This was chosen so that our target audience could relate to it and to go against the conventions.

No use of a voice over

Sentences used as a narrator

The protagonist/killer

We decided to go against the conventions of horror trailers and show who our killer was. This was done so that the audience ask questions and wonder what happens to the other characters (victims) in the film

We didn’t use any masks to hide the killers identity.

We show the audience some of the killers background, so that they feel some sympathy for that character
