WHAT IS GREEN CONCRETE
Green Concrete as the name suggests is eco friendly and saves the environment by using waste products
GREEN BUILDING MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS SELECTION CRITERIA
* Resource efficiency
* Indoor air quality
Resource efficiency
* Recycled Content
* Locally available
* Recycled or recyclable product
packaging
* Durable
INDOOR AIR QUALITY
* Low or non-toxic
* Minimal chemical
emissions
* Healthfully maintained
* Systems or equipment
GREEN CONCRETE IN STRUCTURES
•Reduce crane age load
•lifting flexibility with lighter weight
•Good thermal and fire resistance
•Improve damping resistance of building
a) Reduced CO2 emissions. b) Low production costs as wastes directly substitute the cement. c) Saves energy, emissions and waste water. d) Helps in recycling industry wastes. e) Reduces the consumption of cement overall. f) Better workability. g) Sustainable development. h) Greater strength and durability than normal concrete. i) Compressive strength and Flexural behaviour is fairly equal to that of the conventional concrete.
ADVANTAGES
APPLICATION OF GREEN CONCRETE
•Green concrete building• Green concrete dam •Green concrete bridge• Green concrete platform
LIMITATIONS
* By using stainless steel, cost of reinforcement increases.* Structures constructed with green concrete have comparatively less life than structures with conventional concrete* Split tension of green concrete is less than that of conventional concrete.
SCOPE IN INDIA
As green concrete is made with concrete wastes it does take more time to come in India because industries having problem to dispose wastes. Also having reduced environmental impact with reduction in CO2 emission.
Green concrete having reduced environmental impact with reduction of the concrete industries CO2 –emissions by 30%. Green concrete is having good thermal and fire resistant.
