    Embed program is designed to have journo live, eat, breathe, train, workwith a given unit

    In general - I dont like embeds Iwant partnerships

    Embeds need to be mutuallybeneficial for us to accept

    What we learned:

    From a military perspective:

    Coordination / communication arecritical

    Embedding costs money eitherunit or station has to pay for tickets,

    travel etc Have schedule but be flexible

    Embed from small station / paperwith strong local tie is better thannational or international outlet

    Anything is possible

    From a media perspective:

    Embed process / clearance not easy shots, insurance, supplies

    Prepare and test broadcastcapability for live radio

    Toughness of deployment onSoldiers and Families

    Cannot imagine daily livingconditions / damage

    Expect the unexpected and beprepared to adapt
