    ADVERTISEMENT POLICY

    Advertisement cannot be claimed as of right.

    The newspapers/periodicals must be on the CentralMedia List (CML) maintained by the Government of

    Pakistan Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC). The circulation figures of the newspapers/

    periodicals must be verified by the ABC on yearlybasis. The Advertisements shall be released only on

    the basis of audited circulation figures. Whether it has been done according to laid down

    criteria is a question

    to receive government advertisements which have

    their circulation audited by ABC.

    Specific requirement of sponsoring Department, if

    any, will be entertained but such requirement must

    be for larger circulated newspapers.

    Tender notice up to Rs.1 lac shall be inserted in twonewspapers. However, circulation and area of

    influence would be given priority.

    Tender notices up to Rs.5 lacs shall be inserted in

    four newspapers including one periodical.

    COORDINATION WITH GOVERNMENT OFFICES

    Lack of Coordination is a serious issue

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    An Electronic Media Cell should be Created in theInformation Department.

    Initially Rs. 5 million should be provided to establish aElectronic Media Monitoring Unit in the DGPR.

    Rs. 300 million may be allocated and released toInformation Deptt. For projecting Governmentpolicies and achievements on Electronic Media.

    Selected Officers of the DGPR should get some basictraining.

    The Entertainment Allowance of DGPR be Enhancedto Rs. 5 million.

    To Engage Article Writers of National Repute Rs. 10

    million be allocated to DGPR Office.

    At least Two Sector Offices should be Developed

    annually through the PSDP. Rs. One million may be provided to Equip the Sector

    Offices.

    To provide logistic support to the Sector Offices Rs.20 million may be provided.
