A Study of Role Play Activity to Develop Self- Confidence in Speaking
English

According to (Harmer, 2001), Role Play provides the elements of getting the information and freedom for a participant to think and feel. Effective as it gives participants or students a space for them to contribute various views to reach the aims.
(Oradee, 2012), Communicative activity encourages students to have a great relationship with teacher and their peers; supportive environment leads to the development of self- confidence to speak on English among learners.
The Introduction
According to (Dorathy & Dr. S.N. , Mahalakshami 2011) , role play helps shy learners to expose themselves even they have a difficulty.
Role Play is a compulsive activity to motivate learners to bravely speak in the classroom because it consists of listening and speaking procedure, (Meng, 2009)
(Harmer, 2001) Apply activity that has active listening and speaking attitudes generates learners to speak.
Overview of research role play to help learners to be confident in speaking.
Effects of role play in developing confident level of speaking English
Background Of The Research
Lack of Proficiency in Speaking English among college’s students. (Wan Zumusni, et.al, 2010)
The existence of shy students to communicate and speak in English. (Lanerfelde , 1992) as cited in (Basic, 2011)
The need of interesting method in teaching and

Problem Statements
To gauge KPTM’s students’ perception whether role- play helps in developing confident level of speaking ability.
To investigate the effects of role- play’s activity implementation in English course towards KPTM’s students.
To illustrate how role play helps KPTM’s students to improve their confident level in speaking English.
