INTRODUCTION

• USUALLY FARMERS ARE USING CUTTER OR KNIFE WHICH IS ATTATCHED TO A BAMBOO OR A ROD FOR CUTTING MANGOES.

• NOW WE ARE IMPLEMENTING A MECHANISM KNOWN AS “DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF MANGO CUTTER MECHANISM”.

• THE MAIN AIM TO IMPLEMENT OR WORK ON THIS PROJECT IS TO REDUCE THE PROBLEM RELATED TO CUTTING THE MANGO STEM WHICH OCCURRED BY MANNUAL METHOD.

Page 3: Presentation on Mango Cutter

• ALSO THERE ARE VARIOUS REASONS WHICH ARE BEING EXPLAINED TO YOU ON THE FURTHER NOTE.

• IT IS TOTALLY A NEW CONCEPT WHICH WILL HELP FARMERS IN CUTTING THE MANGO AND REDUCING THEIR EXTRA EFFORT.

• When the mango is cut from the tree, it falls on the funnel.

Working :

• It consists of a lever through which the scissor like cutter operates.

• When the lever is pressed, the cutter gets engages and the mango is cut through it.• when the lever is released the cutter gets disengages and then the cutter comes to its original position.

• funnel passes it towards the jute duct.

• Jute duct safely passes the fruit to the container.

•This is how the mango cutter works.

Page 7: Presentation on Mango Cutter

• Advantages:

• It is easy to operate and simple in construction.

• It prevents the fruits from damage.

• Its operation is time saving.

• Easy to move.

• Any shape of mango can be withdrawn from the funnel.

• It can work in any condition.

• Unskilled labour can also easily operate this mechanism.

• Low maintenance cost.

Page 8: Presentation on Mango Cutter

• Limitations:

• Large size of fruits like papaya, pineapple, etc cannot be cut from this mechanism.

• Space required is more.

Page 9: Presentation on Mango Cutter

• APPLICATIONS :

• It can be used for cutting the small branches of tree.

• The main application of this cutter is to cut the fruits like mangoes, orange, guava, apples.

• FUTURE MODIFICATIONS:

• Sensor for counting the mangoes .

• switch can be provided in the place of lever .

• We can use the hydraulic system for the operation of cutter.

• We can use a motor to move the mechanism.

Page 12: Presentation on Mango Cutter

• This will also help them in reducing the damages of fruits.

• This mechanism will be useful for our farmers, who do extra efforts in cutting fruits from the trees.
