Presentation for Media ThrillerTRANSCRIPT
A film by Matt Olver, George Davison and Eloise Preen
Who we are and what we are aiming to do…
We are supersonic productions and we are here to tell you about our short film, that goes by the same name. We have designed this logo, as it depicts our creativity and differentiates us from other logos, which are usually words supposed imposed over a city or landscape scene.
Concept and USP
Our concept is that of a slapstick Pulp Fiction style film, these tend to be rarer than other, more dramatic films, and we hope that this is unique to our film and will make it more attractive to younger audiences AND teenage to young adults. Also this allows for more creativity, instead of just taking advantage of the many conventions that dwell in the thriller genre.
Mise-en-scene
Our male lead must be an attractive and strong looking male, to act as the generic male hero. Being a male spy.For example Daniel Craig.
Our female lead must be a strong, good looking and slender female. For example Olga Kurylenko, who is the bond girl in Quantum of Solace.
We need to create a sense of wealth in our film, so we will need props that are synonymous with wealth, such as expensive cars and watches. We will also be using guns and other props that insinuate danger and action.
Split Screen and Filming
To film we are using a Nikon D800 DSLR which is capable of shooting film in 60fps full HD.
We took inspiration for the split screen idea from both Mr and Mrs Smith and TV shows we watched as children, for example, Lizzie Mcguire.
TypographyWe will be using pop art style typography for our film, along with the overly dramatic music, we hope this adds to the slapstick style of our film.
Soundtrack
We are going to take influence from Mission Impossible and Miserlou by Dick Dale when creating our soundtrack. This is again to enhance the slapstick element of our film, and to make a ‘tip of the hat’ to Quentin Tarantino, one our groups favourite directors and one that we are taking influence from in our film.
