SIGNIFICANT  SHADOW  REDUCTION

The  picture  on  the  right  illustrates  reduced  shadows  under  double  light  sources

RAINBOW  MODE  Sometimes  the  artist  mind  needs  a  bit  of  colors

Description:  when  the  nob  is  turned  to  near  the  maximum  (counter-‐clockwise),  Fusion  will  enter  the  “Rainbow  Mode.”  Instead  of  bright  white  light,  you  get  rainbow  colored  lights  evolving  and  changing.  Perfect  for  invoking  creativity  or  simply  relaxing.    Note:  bonus  for  bringing  a  date  home

CRITICAL  PART  THAT  YOU  CAN’T  SEE    Fixer  –    •  Holds  the  stem  vertically  •  Fixes  the  stem  stably  onto  the  base  •  Prevents  tilting  (3  120  degree  apart

setscrews  on  the  vertical  surface)    Supportive  Legs  –    •  Milled  to  be  equal  in  height  •  Tapped  #4-‐40  for  the  crews  •  Acrylic  board  fit  onto  the  four  legs  to

cover  the  base

Controller  (Potentiometer)  Spot  –    •  Bigger  hole  for  the  potentiometer  to

stick  through  •  Smaller  hole  to  prevent  unwanted

rotation  around  z-‐axis

Ø  The  design  intension  was  to  create  a  lamp  that  casts  light  evenly  onto  the  horizontal  surfaced  so  that  the  users  can  read/write/draw  with  little  shadows.

Ø  Since  I  was  a  little  kid,  I  have  enjoyed  free  drawing  on  paper  and  such  activities  extend  late  into  the  evening.  As  I  got  older  I  often  had  to  study  at  night  and  it  was  frustrating  that  all  the  lamps  that  I  could  find  in  the  market  couldn’t  provide  a  very  solid  light  for  me.

Ø  Sometimes  the  light  was  so  strong  even  the  reflection  from  the  paper  would  hurt  my  eyes.  Sometimes  the  light  had  a  cold  depressing  color.  Those  lamps  couldn’t  satisfy  me  and  they  haven’t  done  nearly  enough  for  eyesight  protection

Every  individual  who  works  at  night  deserves  a  lamp  that  takes  into  consideration  all  of  these  nuances  and  details,

a  lamp  that  cares.
