Logo History

Lion, the king of animals represents strength, courage and wisdom. All of these qualities are very important for their bank.

As Georgia’s leading financial institution and the bank with a long history, they use a reproduction of the so called Alazani Valley lion as their visual symbol. Alazani

Valley lion dates back to 3rd century B.C. and is the most ancient visual representation of a lion found in Georgia. This treasure is held at the National

Museum of Georgia.

Orange color is a mixture of the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. The color is rather attractive and emanates energy of happiness that fills us. They then pass it on to others.

HeadquarterBank of Georgia headquarters, that used to house the Soviet Ministry of Roads, was built in 1975 by architects Giorgi Chakhava and Zurab Jalaghania.The 18-storey building with the total area of 13,500 sq. meters has its own cafeteria, fully equipped gym, and 3,500 areas of above and underground parking.Since 1975 the building has appeared in various renowned magazines in the West, as one of the best examples of constructivism style.

On 29 November 2006, Bank of Georgia became the first company from Georgia and the second bank from the CIS to list its shares in the form of GDRs on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: BGEO).

A benchmark stock on the Georgian Stock Exchange (GSE: GEB), Bank of Georgia has been listed on the GSE since 2001. As of 30 September 2010, the bank was approximately 93% institutionally owned, with the remainder owned by senior management and approximately resident and non-resident retail shareholders.
