• Limiting Issues– Group is too small.– We need junior faculty. – There is a negotiation for a senior theorist (target of opportunity).– Need to establish the Joint Quantum Institute with NIST.

• Encourages Phillips’ involvement• Encourages interaction with Condensed Matter• NIST researchers can be a great LOCAL resource

– Space for growth will be problematic.– Already lab and offices are in different buildings.– Need significant presence to compete for quality students.
