Feet a little more than shoulder-width apart.
Weight should be shifted forwards a little, with your knees slightly bent.
Racket carriage: bring your racket up!! It should be held out in front of you, and away from your body.
The arm without racket: should be used to balance your dominant arm and racket, holding it in front of your body and slightly out to the side.
- CLEAR: upper arm or overhead shot – hitting the shuttle high and to the back of the opponent’s court, the rearcourt.
- DROP: upper arm or overhead shot – hitting the shuttle so that it falls softly downwards into the opponent’s forecourt, very close to the net.
- SMASH: upper arm or overhead shot – hitting the shuttle downwards fast, attempting to win the rally inmediately.
- DRIVE: hitting the shuttle as far as you can with a horizontal direction and fast. - NET-DROP: under arm shot – hitting the shuttle softly back to the net. - LOB: under arm shot – hitting the shuttle high and to the back of the opponent’s court.
