NEW DATE FOR CHILDREN’S STAGE ADVENTURESThe Children's Stage Adventures staff contacted us with a request to postpone their residency week. With all the recent snowstorms, their schedule was in chaos and their new adult performers needed more training time. After talking this over with the Prescott staff, making sure the accompanist could change her schedule, and checking if there would any cost in canceling the Bed & Breakfast, it was decided that changing the week to May 11 - 15, 2015 would be bene\icial to us, as well as CSA. There was some concern of snow days during our week and where folks would \ind parking on performance night with all the snow banks around the school. We hope this will work for most families and look forward to another great performance!

Thank you to all who observed “Sugar-Out Day” today!February is Dental Health Month!
Dental disease is a costly health problem in Maine. Tooth decay is preventable. One step in breaking the chain of decay is to cut down on the amount of sugary foods and drinks your family eats. Sugar mixes with the germs in your mouth to form an acid. The acid eats away your teeth. If “acid-attacks” happen too often, the teeth are weakened and cavities start.
There are many foods we eat daily that have “hidden” sugars. These sugars include honey, molasses, corn syrup, dextrose, fructose, and sucrose. It may be hard to change your eating habits by choosing foods and drinks without sugar. But, you can read food labels and replace the sweet, sticky, starchy snacks such as candy, raisins, potato chips and soda with fresh and canned fruits (without heavy, sugary syrup), vegetables, popcorn, cheese and yogurt. Most children like these foods and they make great low-sugar snacks to take to school too!
Thank you for your help and support for a brighter, healthier smile for life!
From the Health OfDice – February Vacation Week Of all the things that people bring back from vacations: photos, a tan, stories of snow or sand… don’t let the measles be one of them! We realize that the measles outbreak is not directly effecting us in Maine, however, people from all areas of the country travel thru airports, bus stations, on trains, ski areas, Disneyland, etc.… Parents, take a moment to check in with your student’s primary care provider to make sure he/she is up to date on their immunizations. Be travel smart – make the call & make it a vacation to remember for all the right reasons.
