Under, Behind and among are simple examples of preposition which expresses the relation between subject and object.

1. Simple Preposition
Those prepositions which are formed by prefixing a preposition to a noun, adjective or adverb
Example:The boys ran around the bench
2. Compound Preposition
Phrasal prepositions are a series of words or phrases that link and relate the object of the preposition (a noun or a pronoun) to the rest of the sentence. Phrasal prepositions are also known as compound prepositions.
