AOG the MRO’s perspective As an MRO the “unexpected AOG” is often at a location not supported by an in house solution resulting in teams being deployed to recover the aircraft. As an MRO you will cover multiple customers and multiple types, presenting a challenge for all aspects of the maintenance team; in the case of FAS 17 aircraft-engine combinations across 72 airlines in 5 continents. The MRO must constantly evaluate the market demand, be it customer refleeting, entry into service types or next generation aircraft advancements. In all cases the imperative is to return the aircraft safely back to revenue service with the shortest out of service time, minimising reputational, operational and financial impact to your customer. As an MRO the unexpected AOG is often at a location not supported
