COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS INITIATIVE GOALS Dorchester School District Two is committed to every graduate

having:

a high school diploma;a set of viable college entrance exam scores;a portable work-based certificate;an acceptance letter to the military, 2 or 4 year college;and a desire to use their talents in service of the

community.

IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF THE DIPLOMA

• Employment of expectations that exceed the state's definition of On-Grade Level for elementary students, specifically 3rd grade.

• Development of a middle school course schedule that embeds daily opportunities for individualized instruction.

• Utilization of research-driven solutions to raise the quality and intensity of high school courses.

• Annual evaluation of intervention and enrichment programs in every school through team visits.

WHY QUALITY CORE? Students - academically confident and prepared for college or the

workplace.

Teachers- armed with resources, tools, and training to reach ALL students

Principals- assured classroom teaching is effective, targeted, and customized to meet needs of students.

District Leaders- certain that there is consistency in regards to quality and intensity of instruction in all schools
