Ultimate Goal: To help your child fulfill the two greatest commandments:

1. To love God above all things with our mind, strength, heart, and soul

2. To love our neighbor as ourselves

In that way, we fulfill why we were created: To know, love, and serve God.

IPC CourseA class in Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) allows students to get

familiar with these two aspects of science at the same time, Chemistry and Physics.

3-Atoms and Periodic Table 4-Chemical and Physical Reactions.5-Acids, Bases and PH Scale

In Physics

1-Time, distance and speed.2-Acceleration and Momentum.3-Newton’s Laws of Motion.4- Electromagnetic Spectrum5-Thermal and Electrical Energy

Ms. Fama: US History

● Be able to read and comprehend class notes:

○ Warm-ups on Socrative

○ Various note taking strategies

○ Exit tickets

● Active Classroom= primary source analysis,

map skills practice, etc.

● Studying:

○ Review→ notes and vocabulary daily

○ Create→ notecards, silly sentences,

Quizlet, etc.

○ Teach→ allow your student to talk out the

topics with you

Language Arts and Literature

• Reading and writing everyday help you become a better reader and writer. Your brain only gets good at the things it practices. We practice A LOT!• Please DON’T check/correct writing. It’s very discouraging to a young writer.• Vocabulary quizzes are Friday morning.• Everyone should have a SQUIRT book everyday.

High School Visits

• Strake/St. Agnes• St. Thomas/IWA• St. John XXIII• St. Pius X

Love and Logic• Students are asked to solve problems they

create.• Students are allowed to experience the

logical consequences of their actions.• Students are expected to fix it going

forward.

INDEPENDENCE• Students should advocate for grades -

appropriately.

• Students should ask for make-up work - at appropriate times.

• Students should complete homework without parents checking correctness of answers.

• Students should check grades.

So What’s a Parent to Do?• Help your child follow school rules – uniforms,

hair, etc.• Establish routines – for homework, chores,

carpool, etc.• Make sure homework supplies and space are

available (including technology needs – printer, ink, paper, Internet connection, etc.)

• Insist on bedtime• Monitor social media and screen time• Limit scheduled activities• Check the Tuesday folder each week

This job we share is about raising people of integrity and character. It’s much bigger than getting into a high school, or making the sports team, or getting all A’s.
