EduTrust CertificationKaplan Learning Institute has been awarded with the EduTrust certification. This is an acknowledgement of KLI quality excellence in its programmes and services as well as business operations. As required by the Council for Private Education (CPE), it has put in place mandatory requirements which include fee protection scheme, medical insurance coverage and the use of a standard PEI-student contract.

Fee Protection Scheme (FPS)Under the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS), Kaplan Learning Institute has put in place an insurance arrangement that ensures fees paid by students to the school are insured by Lonpac Insurance Bhd, a CPE-appointed service provider. The insurance protection serves to protect the students’ fees in the event a Private Education Institution (PEI) is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. Furthermore, the FPS protects the student if the PEI fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgments made against it by the Singapore courts. The FPS is compulsory for all local and international students taking courses at PEIs seeking EduTrust certification. FPS applies to all courses with duration of more than 1 month or 50 hours. Students enrolled in these courses will be required to pay a fee for FPS which varies depending on the fees of the courses insured.

Medical Insurance Kaplan Learning Institute has put in place medical insurance under which all its students (except those specifically allowed to opt out under EduTrust certification guidelines) will be covered for hospitalisation on annually. AXA Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd has been appointed as the insurance provider. The fee payable for the entire duration of the course is indicated in the fee schedule of the student contract.

Standard Student ContractIt is a mandatory requirement by the CPE that all students, both local and international, sign the student contract with Kaplan Learning Institute upon the acceptance of the offer made by Kaplan Learning Institute during the admission process. (Note: Student contract will not be required for non-award programmes with a duration of less than 50 hours or 1 month). The student contract serves to minimise future disputes and hence, has to be completely understood by students prior to course fee payment.

Please refer to CPE website (www.cpe.gov.sg) for details on EduTrust, fee protection scheme, medical insurance coverage and standard PEI-student contract.

Supplementary Fees (for international students only)A fee of $150 per intake is compulsory for all student pass holders. The supplementary fees include access to an online platform supported by Kaplan UK which will provide students with in-depth and additional revision and study material to aid in their ACCA journey.

Refunds for Withdrawal Without CauseWhere students withdraw from the Course, KLI shall review after receiving the student’s written notice of withdrawal and refund to the Student within 7 working days, the following sums:

The Student will be refunded the highest percentage of the fees already paid if the Student submits a written notice of withdrawal to the KLI within the cooling-off period, regardless of whether the Student has started the course or not. In the event that a student wishes to withdraw from the programme, the application fee and the administrative fee are not refundable. Our Success Stories

“ I knew from the start that Kaplan is my first choice as ACCA tuition provider due to its outstanding reputation. And throughout my 4 years of ACCA studies, Kaplan has helped me in countless ways I can remember, which include enriching lectures given by their world-class lecturers, a first-class educational facility, and outstanding staff in helping out with all the administration matters. For without them, I will not gain this wonderful knowledge and the outstanding achievements that I am truly humbled by. I was blessed to join Ernst & Young Advisory as a business Risk Consultant and experience a 16% salary increment right after completing my ACCA course. During my time with E&Y, I was able to apply the thought process that I learnt from ACCA effectively and I’m humbled that the ACCA knowledge and its rigour allowed me to be recognised as a fast learner and climbed through my ranks faster. After 3 great years with E&Y, I am now with Microsoft in my current role as a Regional Manager in APAC. I’m still able to apply ACCA knowledge especially in Finance Tax and Compliance-related areas I’m overseeing.”

Hans Christian Gunawan, ACCA Graduate and currently working at Microsoft

“The lecturers’ experiences in the accounting and financial industry were well-manifested in our classrooms, and helped to strengthen our understanding of the respective subjects. Their experiences were especially important in ACCA professional papers as this level requires strong practical experience which I lacked in. Kaplan Financial also provides online lecturing to allow me access to more resources for study materials including effective online lecturer notes. All these have essentially helped me in becoming a prize winner.”

Selly, Prize Winner for P4 (2nd) and P7 (1st) in December 2014 Exams

“It is an honour to be one of the ACCA prize winners and I am now finally an ACCA affiliate after completing all 14 papers at my first attempt! This would not be possible without the support from an excellent group of lecturers and the conducive learning environment at Kaplan.

The lecturing team’s passion and knowledge definitely contributed to my success as well as their willingness to correct my mistakes in class, which helped me to improve and excel in my exams. In addition, my access to learning materials in MyKaplan Online Blended Learning further enhanced my learning process during self-study.”

Ng Yin Chau, ACCA Prize Winner for P4 (3rd) in December 2014 Exams

“Prior to joining Kaplan, I took some of my ACCA papers with another institution. However, I found it difficult to approach the lecturers when I had doubts and was in need of clarification. After I made my switch to Kaplan, I must say that they provided a good and conducive environment for us to study and, with clearer explanations and guidance of our lecturers in class, I was able to understand the concepts and apply the knowledge gained effectively. I am currently a newly-hired Junior Accountant in a SME company with a 15% pay increment after my graduation; and would like to thank the teaching and service staff of Kaplan in helping me through the challenging but fruitful ACCA journey.”

Raymond Lee, ACCA Graduate

“The excellent resources that I received from Kaplan went a long way in helping me prepare for the ACCA examinations. Their well-designed e-learning portal provides a really helpful option for me to catch up with lessons that I have missed due to my Army’s commitments. The teachers are experienced and most importantly, sincere and helpful. I would like to thank Kaplan staff and faculty for so many years of guiding students and helping them achieve their educational goals.”
