  • MagnetsSeparate the ferrous metals e.g. tin cans.

  • Eddy current separators These separate the non-ferrous metals e.g. aluminium cans.

  • Ballistic separatorsThrow material up and forward over screens to sort material into light and heavy material also cleaning it of dust and dirt.

  • TrommelsA rotating cylinder separates material by size.

  • Air knivesA directed blast or flow of air that is used to separate light materials from heavier particles as they move along a conveyor or that have been blown into a column.It operates just like a hair drier.

  • This technology separates the recycling from your general waste

  • 80% is recycled from your general waste

  • Once the various types of material are sorted

  • It is made into bales

  • The baler crushes and wraps the material

  • Making it easier to transport

  • They are sent to a variety of users

  • Paper

  • Is made back into paper

  • Then back into newspapers and magazines

  • And other paper products

  • Aluminium cans

  • Are melted into ingots

  • Or made into sheets

  • Then made back into cans

  • And other products

  • Cardboard is pulped

  • Then made into new cardboard

  • And not just boxes

  • Steel cans

  • Are made into new cans

  • Or building steel

  • Plastic bottles

  • Can be made back into plastic bottles

  • Or other (not so obvious) products

  • Plastic film comes in a wide variety of types

  • It can be recycled into a variety of plastic film

  • The organic fines are processed into a refuse derived fuel
