The Preliminary Task Making

I Started with a blank A4 page on Photoshop, where I would make the magazine cover.

I then added the Title of the magazine. I decided to call it “Preston Manor Journal”. I made the colour of the Preston manor text yellow to show the brightness of the magazine and the school name, and making the journal a blacker colour to show more seriousness. I Used a Red outline for the text and put the title at the Top of the Page, making it the main text a person would see.

I then added a blue gradient going from a darker blue to a lighter blue. I think this looked good with the empty background, showing the several white and grey squares under the gradient. I added a slight glow on the title.

I then added my model for the magazine, and I put her more to the left side so that the text would be on the right side. I put a glow around her to match with the magazine title, which also has a glow around it, and I put the glow there also to her glow as a positive youth role model.

I then added the Sub-Heading “Heading Reports” above where I was planning to put the text, and gave it a blue gradient to match with the magazine background, and a glow to match with the magazine’s model.

I put the Preston manor logo in the corner to show some proof or representation that this is a Preston manor magazine.

Then finally, I added the last pieces of text on the magazine. I put the text in different colours to make it more positively colourful. I made the bullet pointed with stars to also uplift the positivity of the magazine, because when it comes to grades in schools, the best grade is and A star, so the stars help give off that high achievement feeling.
