Since there were no books written during the Stone Age, the cave art is very important. It gives us a glimpse into the ancient world.

Petroglyph:Design carved into rock or other surface.

Cave of Lascaux, FranceDiscovered by four boys on September 12th, 1940.

Caves are filled with pictographs and petroglyphs of hundreds of animals.

Dated to about 17,00 years ago.

Consider what people from the future would learn about us from your artwork.Your painting/drawing should include things that are important to you or important to our culture

Using a large piece of construction paper and your choice of art utensils, construct a piece of “cave” art that would allow someone 17,000 years from now to understand what our culture was like.

6th Grade Teachers will vote on top 3 from each class

Those 3 will be recognized on the Cave Art Wall of Fame for all the world to see!
