The 35th Congress of Theoretical Chemists ofLatin Expression (QUITEL/CHITEL) was heldfrom September 18 to 22, 2009, on San AndresIsland, Colombia. About 170 participants from 27countries gathered for 5 days of lectures, postersessions and informal discussions. The Congresstook place at the Sunrise Beach Hotel, set on thenorth-eastern tip of San Andres, overlooking theCaribbean Sea, in premises endowed with the lat-est multimedia equipment.

This 35th version of the QUITEL/CHITELCongress, held for the first time in Colombia,followed the format of previous meetings, thatis, all lectures were conducted in romance lan-guages. The program consisted of 24 plenary lec-tures, 37 short oral communications and 3 postersessions.

These proceedings contain papers from manyof the Congress sessions, and have been subject tothe normal refereeing procedures of the Interna-tional Journal of Quantum Chemistry.
