The deeper, more open frame layout of the PSS facilitates: • The use of parallelograms which improve

HorwoodBagshaw’sPSSmoduleincorporates:

1. HYDRAULIC FRONT TINE. The hydraulic front tine places fertiliser at a controlled depth below the seed bed. The front tine is designed to work deeper than the seeding tine, leading to: • Increasedwaterinfiltration• Utilisation of sub-soil moisture reserves

for earlier germination• Reduced fertiliser toxicity• Improved plant growth.

Tine breakout can be adjusted on-the-go from the cab, matching breakout forces to fieldconditions:• From 75lbf • Up to 660lbfThis breakout provides a genuine ‘hardpan-busting’capability,creatingaloosened, deep band for fertiliser placement and deeper root establishment and growth.

The hydraulic front tine is available in two height-adjustable straight, edge-on formats. The low-disturbance, edge-on tines provide multiplebenefits:• Reduced horsepower requirement

saves fuel • Lower soil disturbance reduces weed

germination • Openings are restricted to the seed

row to conserve moisture.

2. PARALLELOGRAM. The parallelogram controls the rear seeding tine’sground-following;leadingtomoreconsistent seeding depth. Seed depth control leads to more accurate seed placement, which produces more even crop development. • The rear section of the parallelogram can

be easily removed, allowing the PSS to be used for chisel ploughing

• In the event of very wet conditions, the parallelograms can be locked in several positions, moving the presswheels out-of-action

• The rear seeding tine can be removed/locked out-of-action in rough, rocky or wet conditions and seeding then conducted in single shoot mode through the front tine.

3. REAR SEEDING TINE. Seed can be placed: • Inline with the fertiliser tine • In a side-band, offset from the

front tine. TheHorwoodBagshawAirseeder’sBlending System allows selected amounts of fertiliser to be placed with theseedasa‘starter’forvigorous,earlyplant growth.

4. PRESSWHEEL. Essentialtofinishingthejob,thepresswheelpresses the seed onto the soil’s surface, optimising seed/soil contact which facilitates earlier seed germination/crop establishment and avoids crusting.

The presswheel also creates a furrow which: • Harvests valuable rainfall • Reduces evaporation from the

loosened soil • Provides shelter for the young plant.
