Precialp Precision India Private Limited (PPI) was established in June 2006 as a joint venture company between the Chidambaram family & Precialp, France to manufacture Thrust bearings, Journal bearings and other Precision parts for Turbo Chargers and other applications. Our joint venture partner Precialp France is a world leader in the production of Turbo Charger Parts and other Precision engineering products supplying to companies such as Garrett, Honeywell India Pvt.Ltd, Turbo Energy Ltd, Borg Warner and Pierburg among other customers. Profile of the main shareholders Precialp - France Precialp is based in Bonneville, France and is one of the largest producers of Thrust bearings and Journal bearings in the world, used in Turbo Charger applications. The company was established in 1968 and is a part of the Maike Group. It is a European leader in precision parts used in automotive and non-automotive applications. Chidambaram Family - India Chidambaram family’s automotive business interest include companies such as Western Thomson (India) Limited and Nippon Thermostat (India) Limited, who are leading players in the field of Automotive Thermostats where they have a National market share of over 80% and a growing presence in countries such as Australia and Malaysia and in the world Tractor market. Our facilities

Our company operates from a production location in Gummidipoondi near Chennai.

Current Equipment:-

Drilling Machine, Special Grinding Machine, Polishing Machine, Hydraulic Press, Thrust Bearing Assembly and Testing Equipments etc.

In the near future we will be procuring additional equipment for carrying out production of Journal Bearings and other Turned Precision parts.

Venkat Chidambaram

Venkat Chidambaram is a director on the board of Precialp Precision India Private Ltd. Previously he held a senior Investment management position in Towry, a leading financial services firm in the UK. Prior to that he was Deputy Chief Investment Officer at TFO Management LLP and spent over ten years as an Investment Director with GAM, a division of UBS (Union Bank of Switzerland) based in London, UK. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American Intercontinental University (AIU) in London and an MBA from Cass Business School, London. He served in the British Army Volunteer Reserve (TA) from 1993 to 1999.

Philippe Mallet Philippe Mallet is the Chairman of Precialp, France. The Company is based in Booneville, France employing over 100 people and with a turn over 16 million Euro.

S.Senthilkumaran S.Senthilkumaran joined as General Manager Operation in Jan 2013. He was previously with Reliance Wind Power Division as Chief Manager and prior to that with Magal Engineering Tech Pvt Ltd as Quality Manager. He has vast experience in tooling, heavy engineering, fabrication and machined parts. He holds a MBA (Technology Management) and a Graduate in Engineering from College of Engineering, Anna University.

Nippon Thermostat (India) Limited, was established in 1994 in Chennai, India, as a Joint Venture Company between Mr. V. Chidambaram as Promoter and Chairman, Nippon Thermostat Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., India, to manufacture Thermostats and Sensor Water Temperature and supply to the 100% requirement of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., a Suzuki Joint Venture to produce Motor Cars and Utility Vehicles in India. Since then Nippon Thermostat (India) Ltd., is growing steadily as a manufacturer of Thermostats, Sensor Water Temperature and other related parts for the cooling system of Automobiles. CT Research Institute (CTRI) CT Research Institute (CTRI) was formed in June 2005 by the Chidambaram Family and by various Family Trusts associated with the Chidambaram Family. The Institute carries out research and training activities in the field of automotive engine cooling systems. The Institute is named after our Group’s Founder and Chairman late Mr. V. Chidambaram, referred to as CT. Our Research Institute is committed to conduct various performance and life cycle tests on the products and parts of engine cooling systems in order to achieve International standards of Engine Performance. Research activities are carried out in the field of engine cooling systems in order to meet Emission requirements and help in efforts to reduce vehicle pollution. Our Institute is also dedicated its services to train technical people in the areas of Manufacturing, Quality and Product development and also offer on the job practical training. The institute also provides Research and testing facilities for Industrial Units located in the Gummidipoondi area. In the near future the institute will set up a library, which will subscribe to various technical journals and this will be open to public at large. CTRI is a non-profit organization.
