North Lincolnshire Council has asked we remind residents not to just report dog mess but also who it is that is

not clearing up after their dog via 01724 297000.

The Council are now using a diary of events form for members / residents to complete and return so that they can build up intelligence on who is not clearing up after their

dog. The Council then use this to meet and greet offenders at the spot that their dog normally does its' business. Based upon sound local intelligence they are more then

happy to be on site, whatever the day or time (within reason) to deal with the minority

of selfish dog owners in your community.

School News During September we have welcomed a very special

visitor, a PE teacher from our link school, Yu Cai Pri-

mary, in Dalian China. The teachers are exchanging ideas about the teaching of PE and furthering their un-

derstanding of each others culture. The children have learnt some exciting new games from China and Peter

has taught us some new exercises for 'Wake and Shake'. The children were also fasci-nated by an introduction to Kung Fu. The most difficult part for Peter has been learning

to use a knife and fork, but he is determined to meet the challenge and is already bet-ter than we were with chop sticks.

As part of our fundraising we have a 'bags for schools' collection on the 19th October.

Any bags of unwanted clothing can be left just inside the pedestrian entrance on that morning or brought to the school main entrance before that date.

Anyone from the community is welcome to attend our remembrance service at 10.45

on 11th November. As a point of interest some people may not be aware that the me-

morial plaques for residents of Wrawby, who lost their lives in the 1st and 2nd World Wars, are mounted in the school hall.

Coffee Morning in aid of the victims of Pakistan Many thanks to those who attended and donations from others. Marian and Dee had their laziest coffee morning ever when even they had opportunity to sit, drink coffee and socialise...everyone went home laden with raffle prizes and cake, which I hope they enjoyed... and we still raised £86.60 for the victims of the Pakistan floods. Draft Pastoral Scheme The proposed scheme will mean Fr Owain will be priest in charge of Bonby and Worlaby in addition to his current roles. A copy of the announcement detailing the scheme along with ways to comment is posted in the church and in the porch. Women's Institute The next meeting to be held in the Village Hall on the 20th October is “Hats and Chats”. Also there is advanced notice of 70’s and 80’s Disco Fever on Saturday 27th November from 7.30 to 11.30 p.m. Tickets are £10, including buffet, with fancy dress optional. Further details will be in next months Newsletter. Electric Organ Great thanks goes to Mrs Willerby who has kindly donated an organ for use in Church. Thanks also goes to Robin and Robert Marsden for delivering it to St Mary’s. The Wrawby Bible Study This group continues to meet every other Wednesday in the home of Marian and Dee Toyne from about 7.30 - 9.00pm. (Dates in October are the 13th and 27th.) In these next sessions we will be reflecting on various passages from the Gospel of Luke, which will be coming up in the readings at our churches - so a chance to get ahead. This Gospel has been described as the most beautiful book in all the world - now there's a claim! Everyone welcome. Contributions wanted Do you belong to a local group that would like details of your organisation or of upcoming events publicised then please let the editors know via the addresses on page 2.

Dear Friends Harvest time for some has come and gone, but now is still the time to give thanks to God for all his good gifts to us. Living where we do means that we are in a privileged position in many ways. We have not suf-fered the terrible flooding which has caused so much devastation in Pakistan – many of these places are beauty spots; most are the places where people live, work and raise their families. We have not been afraid that our harvests will fail because of drought, or watched our children die through hunger caused in part by unjust regimes. We know that, for the most part, our children will be well-fed, well-clothed, healthy and have a roof over their heads, and that for the most part, our elders are cared for ( there are always, sadly, people for whom this is not so too), that there will be food on the table and clean water to drink. We have so much to thank God for, and that is the point of Harvest – offering to God the first - fruits of his creation (hence the flowers and fruit displayed in most churches around this time), being thankful for all the blessings which God showers upon us throughout the year, and remem-bering those whose experience of life is not as rich as ours. Towards the end of the month, many people celebrate (maybe unwittingly) the forces of evil. For some, Halloween is an opportunity for partying and having fun. As Christians, we celebrate all that is good, and light, and warm and loving, and we remember those wonderful ‘Saints in light.’ Let’s thank God together for all his good gifts;

All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above Then thank the Lord, Oh thank the Lord

For all His love.

Sincerely Yours

Enid K.
