Starting to pull it together

I want a retro/bold masthead to keep the feel of the magazine whilst still keeping with the indie style. The quip will be ‘The colour of true indie’ a main image I plan to have a band shot with 4-5 people placed in a location. Such as outside. The image will come near the top half of the magazine and the bottom will be cover lines with a couple of other photos at the bottom advertising what is inside. And the main sub-head will be the bands name with a quip after which describes what the article about them inside will be about.

This is the first rough sketch for my magazine. I used purple, blue and red and the main image is black and white. At the bottom is a full colour photograph.
