05.17.2016: Hien of Fireline met with Deputy Chief Jamie Clark. 05.17.2016: Jessica McFadden of the American Red Cross toured the new fire and E.M.A. admin complex. 05.18.2016: Eric Mosley hosted a Georgia Forestry meeting at the Spalding County Fire EMA and Administrative Complex training room. 05.18.2016: Deputy Chief Glenn Polk did an interview with Joshua White for an emergency preparedness badge with the Boy Scouts. 05.18.2016: A shift Engine 2 went on driver’s training. 05.18.2016: A Shift Engine 6, Squad 3, Fire Safety House and Unit 7 went to Atkinson Elementary for fire safety detail. 05.18.2016: Captain Brian Bankston gave 2 smoke detectors to Betty Shumate of 132 Carriage Trace. 05.19.2016: Battalion Battalion Chief Slaughter attended Mutual Aid meeting in Coweta County. 05.20.2016: Greg Nelms with Atlanta Area Extinguisher visited all stations for annual fire extinguisher checks. 05.20.2016: C Shift Engine 3 and Engine 1 personnel assisted with recruits during a training burn. 05.20.2016: Spalding County Fire Department was awarded the Georgia Burn Foundation : Chesney Grant in which weather radios and equipment for hearing impaired will be purchased. 05.24.2016: Deputy Chief Glenn Polk attended United Way Allocation team visitation. 05.24.2016: Distributed updated 2016 Emergency Response Guideline books to collaborative agencies from GEMA.




05.24.2016: Fire Chief Kenny West congratulated Deputy Chief Glenn Polk on his 25-year service award. Glenn was hired on May 24, 1991, after serving 3 years as a volunteer firefighter. Glenn is married to his awesome wife, Mary, and they have 3 amazing children, Colby, who is a junior at Georgia Southern University, Laney, who is an upcoming 9th grader and Cade, who is an upcoming 5th grader. Glenn enjoys coaching football and baseball, while also serving in many capacities in the community and in his church.

05.27.2016: A shift Tanker 5 provided mutual aid for a Structure Fire in Fayetteville. 05.27.2016: Firefighters were issued there new 5.11 uniforms which they can wear Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. These uniforms are lightweight and cooler than their Nomex uniforms. 05.27.2016: Chief Kenny West provided CPR recertification class to the Spalding County Health Department. 05.31.2016: Spalding County Health Department administered annual TB screening for B shift personnel.
