Source of water
The Drinking & Domestic water need will be fulfilled by taking water from nearby village like Charakmara village. As soon as mine void is formed water for greenbelt and dust suppression will be met from water accumulated in mine void. For the purpose of Dust Suppression & Afforestation water from nearby Ponds and rain water Harvesting will be used.

Geology Department, Dist. East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, (Affidavit receipt No. 1596/21.03.17),
reducing the mining lease applied area from 11.76 Acres to 9.38 Acres.
The lease area is having Lat. N 22017’47.56” To N22017’41.15” & Long. E 86040’28.05” To
E86040’19.25”, Topo-sheet No.- 73J/11. Sri Jay Prakash Chaturvedi has been nominated as
Nominated Owner of the above said Mine.

crawler mounted wagon drill & depth of the hole will be 6 m plus 0.18 m (6 inches) sub-
level drilling to avoid the toe at the face having 100 mm dia. of hole. The volume of stone
per hole will be 45 cum. Considering the powder factor 2.25 cum/kg of explosive each
hole will be charged with 20 kg of explosive. The blasting operation will be carried out in
day time with all the statutory precautions. The blasted rock will be shifted to crusher to
the stock yard with the help of 1.2 cum excavator on to 25 tons / 10 cum dumpers and
transported to surface crusher.

The Project is a mining lease for stone mine that should be used for infrastructure
development. The material is used for construction of building, railways, bridges and road etc.
The impact due to mining on the socio-economic front will be beneficial due to providing the
employment to the local villagers during mine activity. Total 23 staff will be required for this
mine and 23 peoples will directly be benefited by mining through employment. With
continuation of mining, other infrastructural developments will increase the socio-economic
status of the local inhabitants.

Drilling and blasting operations will be carried on strictly as per the provision of Rule
106 of MMR, 1961 with due approval from DGMS under the strict supervision of qualified
persons. For storage and issue of explosives, the relevant provisions of Indian Explosives
Rules, 1983 will be followed.
Blasting time is generally fixed at lunch-break interval or after the working shift-taking
all required precautions, like marking the danger zone with red flags, use of warning
signals and providing blasting shelters etc will be taken.
Although the mine is far away from any population, precautions will be taken to minimize
nuisance, caused by blasting. All necessary safety precautions are being taken in
accordance with the explosive act. Precautions are also taken as per permission given
under MMR, 1961 106(2) (b) by the Director of Mine’s Safety for deep hole drilling &
Blasting and also for the usage of heavy earth moving machinery.
Vibration: In order to minimize vibration the precautions shall be taken:
1. Blast holes shall be initiated by non-electric (NONEL) down-the-hole (DTH)
delay detonators.
2. Care shall be taken to ensure that effective burden is not excessive and the face
shall be kept sufficiently long. The burden shall be kept at 2.5 m & spacing shall
be 3.0 m.
3. Optimum charge per delay shall be kept as low as possible.
4 The depth of the hole shall be normally 6 m, which excludes about 0.18 meter of
sub grade drilling, i.e. about 3% of the depth of the hole. The diameter of the
hole shall be 100 mm.
5. Adoption of two row blasting and V pattern of firing.
4. The firing of maximum possible No. of blast holes towards free face.
5. Use of delay detonators between the holes and rows of blasting.
Noise: The following steps shall be taken to minimize pollution by noise.
1. Blasting pattern shall be well designed & blasted periodically rather than couple of
hastily unplanned blast daily. All the explosive and the NONEL detonator shall be put
within the blast hole & instead of detonating fuse, NONEL trunk-line-delay-
detonator shall be used for trunk line connections.
2. Blasting shall be planned to minimize boulders, so that secondary blasting shall be
reduced.

3. Green belt with trees of varying height shall be developed around the quarry to
absorb the blast noise & reduce noise.
Fly Rocks:
While blasting, if the holes will not be properly designed and charged, the main thrust of
the blast will be upwards and instead of fragmenting the rock, there will be an outward
surge resulting in rock fragments flying. In order to prevent fly rocks following steps
shall be taken:
1. Stemming length shall be kept more than or equal to the burden.
2. Inter-row delay shall be selected in such a way that each row pushes its burden
forward rather than in an upward direction.
3. Toe formation shall be avoided by proper design of drilling and blasting as toe hole
blasting involves increased risk of fly rocks.
4. To avoid fly rock problem at the edge of hill, light charged muffle blasting shall be
under taken.

The five year development program of the Stone mine are as follows:
Mining operation has been proposed to be mechanized open cast mining. No drilling was proposed during O.B. Removal.
Drilling operation will be carried out, only in the stone rock body by compressed air wagon drill 6m depth &100 mm dia. After control blasting, the blasted material will be loaded by 1.2 cum Excavator into Dumper (25 ton) and transported to the surface crusher. The stone rock bench will be kept max.6 m height & 5/ 6 m wide alternately to facilitate the movement of the HEMM. During the closure of the mine i.e. after 3 (Three) years the mineralized benches will be taken out judicially.
The proposed final bench slope will be restricted to 45o. Due approval from D.G.M.S, The mining operation will be carried out as per Rule -106 of MMR-1961 is proposed. Mining operation is proposed in general shift only (8AM to 5 PM).The average number of working days in a year would be 300 days/yr only (excluding holidays), the production will slow down trend during monsoon period. Total 23 unskilled, semi-skilled & highly skilled workers will be deployed by the lessee.

Total water requirement in the mine will be about 11.14 KLD for drinking & domestic use, dust suppression and plantation. Required water will be collected from nearby villages like Charakmara.
In hard rock areas, ground water occurs within the weathered zone (10-25 m thickness) and in the underlying fractures/joints. The ground water occurs both under unconfined condition and semi confined to confined condition. The unconfined condition exists in the weathered mantle portion of the rocks. Depth of weathered mantle varies from 15-34 m in general. Hydro-geological map of the district is shown in figure 3.

Baharagora about 5.65 KM in north-west direction .The area is connected with village
road adjacent to mine lease area and meets National Highway which is just 3.00 km in
NE direction from the Lease Area. The nearest railway station is Chakulia Railway Station
and which is situated at 21 km in north-west direction from the mine lease area. Birsa
Munda Airport, Ranchi is the nearest airport in respect of mine lease area situated at a
distance of 180 km from the lease area in NW direction.

enters in to Saraikela Kharsawan district. The shear zone separates a northern terrain of
highly metamorphosed rocks and southern terrain of relatively less metamorphosed
rocks. Sarkar and Saha (1977) have shown that this shear zone separates two
Precambrian provinces of the Indian shield: an older province in the south which
stabilized after the Iron ore orogenic cycle closing about 2900 million years ago and
younger province in the north that underwent the Singhbhum orogenic cycle closing at
about 850 million years ago.
The study area is situated in the south of this thrust zone and a general stratigraphic sequence of this area is given below-

RAJMAHAL BASALLTS AND INTERTRAPPEANS:-The Rajmahal hill range is represented by
Rajmahal Group of rocks. The rocks are basaltic lava ranging in thickness from 45m to
450 m. In basalt the intertrappeans are represented by tuffs, clay stones and siltstone.
Some of the rocks silicified and porcelenides. These are 40 m thick. There are 4 to 15
different volcanic flows. The rocks are of Jurassic to cretaceous age. Radiometric age of
these rocks varies from 11.8 to 70 million years. These rocks are extended for 125 Km
up to 24 degree latitude in Sahebganj near river Ganges.
GONDWANA SUPER GROUP:- Gondawana Supergroup formations are present in the area is
being discussed in brief. The Gondwanaqs are represented by alternation of
argillaceous and erinaceous sediments and intervened with numerous coal seams. They
are located in Dumka and other adjacent areas like Godda, Giridih, Dhanbad, Chatra,
Bokaro etc.

Access to the applied lease area
As such in the stone mining operation there is no approach road from the main
connecting road the proponent developed a private kachha road up the connecting road
with the help of waste material generated from the mine. The distance may vary from
some meters to few kilometers.
Availability of water
The Drinking & Domestic water need will be fulfilled by taking water from nearby village
like Charakmara village. As soon as mine void is formed water for greenbelt and dust
suppression will be met from water accumulated in mine void and also nearby river/
Ponds will be used.

Climate
The climate of this region may be considered as extreme, being intensely hot in summer
and moderately cold in winter. The climate of the area is also characterized by a hot dry
summer and well-distributed rains in the monsoon season. The cold season commences
from December and lasts till the end of February. The hot season follows thereafter and
continues till about the third week of June. The southwest monsoon season is from the
middle/end of June to the end of September.
The Climate of the district is temperate. Annual rainfall is 1200 mm to 1400 mm. This
area comes under the path of south-west monsoon so sometimes it receives heavy rain
during July to September. During the summer seasons maximum temperature goes up
400 C - 450 C whereas in winter it has recorded a minimum of 80 C.

The boulder generated from the mine is generally of various size 100 mm to 200 mm the bigger size boulders are manually broken to small size of 400 to 200 mm and it is fed to the ball mill crusher to small size of 50 mm to 5mm. in this process lot of dusts are generated and it is being arrested by providing proper water spray arrangement at suitable location.

6.3 GREEN BELT The common native plant species used to develop green belt in safety zone of all around
the mine lease boundary also in the barren area during conceptual plan period will be

The mine lease is Raiyaty land and do not have habitation. Hence the mining activity does
not involve any displacement of human settlement. No public buildings, places,
monuments etc exist within the lease area or in the vicinity of the mine lease area. The
mining operation will not disturb/ relocate any village or need resettlement. Thus no
adverse impact is anticipated.
However, after 3 yrs plan period, backfilling may be started or that may be converted into
water reservoir if required. Estimation of area has not been done now. This will be planned
later. Under water pollution prevention plan, garland drain and retaining wall will be
constructed all around the dump, and pits. Sedimentation pond, unlined settling tank will
be constructed near the boundary area to provide a proper channel for water outflow. And
secondary settling pond will be connected to nearest water bodies.

8.4 EMP (Environment Management Plan)
Sub-project specific Environmental Management Plan (EMP) has been formulated with an
intend to set out action required to avoid or mitigate all impacts and the responsibility for
taking each action. Responsibility is made legally binding when actions are subsequently
specified in contracts. Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMoP) has been prepared to ensure
that the intended environmental mitigations are realized and these results in desired benefits
to the target population causing minimal deterioration to the environmental parameters. All
costs for implementing the mitigation measures and monitoring plan will be included in the
Bill of Quantities (BOQ) by the contractor as implementation of the EMP will be the
