YOUR WINDOW INTO THE WORLD OF YESHIVA KETANA OHR REUVEN…

7:52 p.m. Vol. 5 Issue #28 May 18, 18 סיון תשע"ח‘ ד

Relatives and friends filled the lunchroom this past Sunday, coming to shep nachas and celebrate the tremendous milestone as each Pre-1Aer received his first siddur. The boys have been working diligently on their kriah over the course of the year, learning nekudos and blending the sounds to form words.

Rabbi Rawicki welcomed the assembled and spoke about the chashivos of the day. He explained the importance of transmitting the essence of yiddishkeit and the power of tefillah to our talmidim. The Pre-1A class then sang a number of heartwarming songs which reflected upon their tremendous growth over the year. There were also songs about their tefillos going straight up to shomayim.

Thank you to Benny Neuhauser for recording the music that accompanied the boys' singing. A special thank you to the Frommer and Gotesman families for donating the siddurim, and a thank you to Mrs. Cohen and Mrs. Deutsch

for setting up and for presenting the impressive flowers to the teachers at the conclusion which represented the class’s appreciation. Last but not least, thank you to our amazing teachers and assistances Mrs. Nadav, Mrs. Goldring, Mrs. Knopfler, Miss Rapp, Miss Freeman and Miss Weinstein for making this year in Pre-1A the suc-cess that it was.

Pre 1-A Siddur play

Mrs. Biller's kindergarten held a moving end-of-the-year event. On Sunday, every kindergarten mother came to school bright and early with her son in order to join the morahs and the rest of the class in a bittersweet kindergarten closing event. The talmidim enjoyed doing the arts-and-crafts projects as well as the celebratory refreshments that were so generously prepared by the mothers in honor of the end of the year celebration. The mothers shepped nachas as each boy received his diploma package. Many thanks to Mrs. Lipszc, who arranged the myriad of details involved in organizing the party. Although the year has drawn to a close for these kindergarteners, they are already looking forward to another inspira-tional year of learning at YKOR as Pre-1Aers.

Kindergarten Graduates

Last week, Rabbi Biller's third-graders were rewarded for their impressive efforts towards the ye-shiva’s raffle campaign. The boys had a fabulous time playing base-ball in Viola Park. The teamwork as the boys played was a pleasure to behold. Thank you to Shimmy Mentch for making the game the success it was. From splitting up the teams to driving the boys and doing all of the pitching, as well as

helping the boys with the rules and keeping their spirits up, the success of the game was in a huge part all yours. At the end of the game, the boys got ice-cold Slurpees, perfect

finale to a game well played. Thank you, Mr. Berman for all your help as well.
