LAST MOVIE OF THE SUMMER FOR CHRISTIAN FILM FESTIVAL.

Attention sports and/or basketball fans! We will see our last movie for the summer on

Monday evening, Aug. 15 at 7 PM in 240.

JOHN WOODEN—THEY CALLED HIM COACH

A TRUE STORY. This documentary shows archival footage of John’s background as well as clips from interviews with “the coach.” From solid mid-west “stock” Coach Wooden grew up in a small Indiana community. Hon-ored for his legendary success as a coach and greatly admired by all who knew him, John Wooden demonstrated what it means to live a Christian life. He never considered him-self an evangelist but he certainly knew how to honestly express his faith in a humble and humorous way. This captivating biography provides a view of not only his remarkable career in the world of sports but also a behind-the-scenes look at his persona life and the values upon which he built it. We’ll see interviews with his daughter, Nan Wooden and players he coached at South Bend Central High School, Indiana State University and UCLA. This inspiring presentation focuses on his integrity, his Christian faith and concern for others princi-ples of living that can be observed by all. 75 minutes.
