Many people have a view of the spiritual world as comprising of whatever they believe it to be. Yet this approach leads to a great deal of confusion and conflict even for a born-again disciple of Christ. Our objective in this teaching series will be to bring a measure of Biblical understanding and insight into the reality of the spiritual realm. We’ll begin by taking a geographic step-by-step tour from the natural into the spiritual.

In Matthew 18:18 Jesus says, “Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” Binding and loosing can be viewed as construction and renovation terms. When something needs to be changed in the natural in order to align with God’s will, our work is not to attempt to accomplish that goal in the natural, but first and foremost in the spirit. Loosing and binding in “heavenly places” transforms things in the natural in the same way that reshaping a cube influences and reshapes the lines contained within. Make no mistake: THE NATURAL IS CONTAINED WITHIN THE SPIRITUAL! Jesus instructed His disciples to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10).

Through the Word of God and the conviction of Spirit, we can know God’s will When we observe things in the natural that are out of alignment with His will (sickness and disease, disunity, fear, oppression, corruption,

perversion, hatred, idolatry, etc.), through the privilege and power of prayer we can agree with the reality of God’s kingdom in the FOURTH DIMENSION SPIRIT which then dominates, influences and transforms the natural through manifest answers to prayer.

James 5:16 says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].” (Amplified Bible) YOU, the believer can “accomplish much” through the understanding and engagement of fourth dimension prayer and transformation. Let’s equip ourselves with wisdom and knowledge and fight the good fight for the glory and honor of our King.

HE’S HERE… WORSHIP Prayer interfaces you into the realm of the fourth dimension. Actively engage in prayer. Be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, following His lead as you pray. In other words, pray what is on God’s heart.

HE KNOWS… LEARN As a student of the Word of God, start your investigation into PRAYER. Conduct a word study utilizing research tools: concordance, Bible dictionary (Hebrew & Greek), as well as types of prayers.

HE’S ABLE… SERVE Become active in the prayer life of someone else. Join together with someone else, agreeing with the Holy Spirit on things concerning your life, their life, your surroundings, your church, and the country. Each of you becoming the breakthrough for one another through prayer.

One of the problems with understanding the spiritual realm is that most of us take the perspective of the spirit realm being subject to and dominated by the natural. The reality however is just the opposite. In order to understand this principle, we’ll use a few simple geometric structures.

Our natural world exists within the constraints of the third dimension. But there yet exists a higher fourth dimension that operates with dominion and influence over the natural world. This is the realm of the SPIRIT.

John 4:24 states, “God is Spirit...” Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created...” If God is spirit and He is the Creator of the natural world, then the natural third dimension is under the influence and dominion of the spirit: the fourth dimension.

Our foundational scripture for this teaching series is Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against powers, against world forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” This verse gives clear identification of “heavenly places” where a battle is waging. This is the location of the battle the church and every believer must engage.

The First Dimension: a line is the object of the first dimension because there is only one way of measure: length.

The Second Dimension: a plane is the object of the second dimension because there are two measurements: length and width.

The Third Dimension: a cube is the object of the third dimension because there are three possible measurements: length, width and height.

These three dimensions are inextricably interconnected in that when a change is made in a higher dimension it automatically influences the lower dimensions contained within. For example, if a cube (3rd dimension) is cut in half, the planes (2nd dimension) are cut in half also. If a plane (2nd dimension) is bent, the lines within that plane are bent as well.
