Prattville, Ala. is known to locals as “the pre-

ferred community.” Its rich history and deep southern charm is allur-ing to Alabamians and visitors. Known for its in artesian wells and cotton gins’, Prattville offers a quaint and simple lifestyle for those who appreciate the little things.

The quite town rests just northwest of

Montgomery, and hour south of Birmingham. Prattville’s popularity has increased immensely the past few years becoming one of the fastest growing towns in the US. However, the town has not lost any of its small-town spirit through its growth.

Within the past few years Prattville has

revitalized it’s downtown with the opening of the Creekwalk and revovations to the downtown shops, lamps, roads and foun-tain. The renovations have maintained the classic feel to the area while providing clean and graceful touches to the historic distric.County Courthouse

The steady population increase in Prattville

has spawned another kind of growth. Multiple new shops and restuarants have opened and, despite the recession, are thriving.

ment as well as fine foods, coffee and desserts. This upscale eatery is a gem to locals as well as visitors. MarChelles, known for it’s specialty desserts, offers awide variety of lunch and dinner options including a “Balck and Blue salad with mixed field greens, blue cheese crumbles and thinly sliced steak strips. Other favorites include crabcakes and the fillet. Whatever your choice, this restaruant is sure to please your pallet.
