Practise shots

One of the first shots that I took was of the candles we were going to feature in our opening, this photo was taken with relatively bright light. However I felt that this did not give a spooky/eerie enough effect and so I took this photo again with a much more low key lighting which looked considerably better.

Another shot was taken of the window, again we realised that low key lighting Is the preferable option.

We can see from this how much more effective low key lighting is for creating atmosphere. We also used an alternative light from the side to give a partial glow to the shot, ensuring that the window is not in complete darkness.

The same principle also applies to these shots, the shot without the light proofed to be more effective.

Angles

We also experimented with angels. We looked at a long shot of the house as well as a high angle shot of the house. We decided that these angles were very effective and therefore we decided we definitely were going to add them in our final opening.

We also took another long shot of the front of the house. This enables the audience to see more of the house rather than just close ups.
