Introduction to Section OneThe following list summarizes the practices discussed in Section One, in order to work towards volcanic remembrance and the dharnas necessary for intense instant yoga:

1. Amrit Vela: I should not tell myself, ‘I am tired’ for if I say I am tired, Maya will catch hold of me. Just say, ‘OK this is the time for me to earn my income’.

2. Holy Swan: Baba as Purifier: Instead of spending time churning gyan, instead of spending time in experiencing Baba in various forms, my total focus is that He is my Purifier.

3. Beyond influence: I have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and everyone. I am looking, knowing, and yet, beyond everything. detached, concentrated and in heart to heart conversation

4. Churning Gyan and No Waste: As I become sensible and knowledgeful, using knowledge at each point, I am able to remain detached and unaffected. I no longer think again and again about the past, or about what is happening around me.

5. Concentration on what is essential: The turtle is withdrawing from the entire world. He is concentrating and re-energizing himself. Similarly, make use of this power. This means saying no to all those things that are non-essential.

6. Detached stage: Very, very deep and subtle efforts are needed to detach myself from my own sanskaras

7. Disciplines: I have to see that I am not becoming slack. I realise the value of Baba’s directions and disciplines and I follow them thoroughly.

8. Karma Yogi: I should maintain a karma yogi stage throughout the day. It is very essential that we pay attention to our thoughts throughout the day, because when there is attention, there won’t be tension.

9. Keep awareness of being an instrument: When there is the awareness that this is Baba’s job, Baba is getting it done and I am just instrument, then I will maintain that lightness.

10. Listen to my Conscience: If my conscience is saying that whatever I am doing is right - then I should go ahead without wondering what people will think about me or what they are speaking about me.

11. Sadhana: making effort without taking support of physical or subtle facilities. As we continue to become more and more yogi, that is, the more renunciation we have, the more the objects of matter and facilities will come to surrender themselves

12. Surrender: Beyond I and mine: the whole day say, ‘Baba, Baba, Baba’, rather than ‘I’ and ‘mine’. As much as I have that deep love for Baba, naturally, I will be in that powerful, fiery stage.

13. Traffic Control: If we have love for solitude and love for silence, whatever time we have, we will grab a few minutes here and there, (and even if we don’t have time, we have to find time).

Dadi Classes No one can stop a volcano eruptingDadi Janki - Global Co-operation House, London – 26/11/05

Baba has created many different methods for remembrance. If we make the effort, we get the fruit and when we eat the fruit, we receive power. We might listen to knowledge but the power to digest knowledge comes when I follow the maryadas and disciplines. In the early days, we never used the word ‘forget’ or ‘remember.’ We would say ‘I have lost awareness.’ We would be so aware of the soul, Supreme Soul and drama. In that stage of awareness, we were being it – not just remembering it.

We have to create a stage like a volcano. When a volcano erupts, no one can stop it from erupting. Not only that but you can see the eruption from a distance. In the same way, volcanic yoga is such that no one can make you come down from your stage. No one can stop you with any obstacle. You become a destroyer of obstacles and your attainments from God will be like rays that are visible far and wide.

We have to be like both Kali and Sheetla. Kali destroys all weaknesses and Sheetla keeps her thoughts peaceful. She remains peaceful and patient on the strength of her faith that victory will most surely come. Things will come to face us but we have a choice as to whether we have yoga with those things or have yoga with Baba. If I have yoga with the things around me then I will go into confusion but if I have yoga with Baba, I will go beyond. Om Shanti

“EFFORTS FOR CREATING FIERY FORM OF YOGA”The power of tapasyaClass by Dr. Nirmala

12.10.03

• Incorporeal stage during karma yoga• Tapasya: the power of determination• Amrit Vela • Maintaining the disciplines to create the fiery form

This evening we are taking the topic of fiery form of yoga. We have been practising meditation and now Baba is inspiring us to have that powerful yoga which is really very, very powerful. Just as in fire, we are able to burn away everything, in the same way, this fiery form of yoga will burn our impure karma and sanskaras and that fire is so powerful that Maya will not dare to come in front of us. Just as any fire will scare wild animals, Maya can be compared with different titles …Maya: cat, rat, lion, all sorts of comparisons are made. Maya is powerful, but when there is that fiery form of yoga, Maya will also stay away from us. What we need to do is, in order to have that powerful, fiery form of yoga; we have to practise the bodiless stage.

From the first day, we are told to have soul consciousness and remind ourselves ‘I am a soul, I am a soul, I am not this body’, but we used to say ‘I am a peaceful soul, I am not this body’. On the one hand, we would say, ‘I am a soul’, but then also again reminding ourselves, ‘I am not the body’. What we found was, we used to think about the body, because it is when you say, ‘Don’t think about it’, you think about it first to say, ‘Don’t think about it! Whereas the next step to soul consciousness is bodilessness where we are beyond this mundane, material world and the material body, which means we are aware only of the body of light. We feel so light, as if the body is not made of flesh and bones. Just as angels are light or the vision of angels is a form of light, so there is the form of the body, of light.

Throughout the day, we are practising the bodiless or incorporeal stage because that is the next step of our soul conscious stage. In the bodiless stage, we are aware of our body of light, but in the incorporeal stage, we are beyond even that. We are totally beyond everything: beyond sound, beyond sight, beyond the pull of the mundane, material world around us.

2

Page 3: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

Then we are not concerned about who is coming, who is going, where they are sitting, what they are doing, what they are speaking or what sort of music there is, but in the early stage we get influenced by everything. Sometimes people say, ‘Oh, I find Baba’s room is too bright and somebody will say it is too dim. Some will say the music is so loud and somebody will say the music is so subtle! Somebody will say, ‘But I want classical music’ and somebody will say ‘Oh but I like English music and then somebody will say, ‘But I only like Hindi music!’

When we are in a stage of the body, lighting, sound, language and people coming and going influence us. This is our lower stage of meditation when we are influenced by everything. As we become incorporeal, we are beyond all of the activities around us such as lighting and sound. We are so merged in Baba’s loving remembrance and of having the awareness of myself of being just a point of light and Baba as a point of light. My consciousness is in the soul world and I am so surrounded by Baba’s vibrations and power that I am not pulled to any mundane, material things.

Incorporeal stage during karma yogaWe need to maintain this stage not only during meditation, but also our aim should be to be bodiless and incorporeal throughout the day. Though it may take time to maintain that incorporeal stage whilst doing activity, at least, I should maintain a karma yogi stage throughout the day. It is very essential that we pay attention to our thoughts throughout the day, because when there is attention, there won’t be tension. If there is tension, it means there is something wrong in my consciousness, so if someone says they are too uptight, tired and tense, it means there is no attention.

With my thoughts, I have to be careful that they are in Baba’s remembrance. Whatever I am doing, I am doing it in Baba’s remembrance. I am doing my activities and I am in Baba’s remembrance, or I am churning gyan, and not allowing waste and negative thoughts, because my day’s activity will have an influence on my meditation. I have to see that throughout the day I am churning gyan, remembering Baba and not allowing any negative and waste thoughts. The negative and waste thoughts are because I am not a detached observer. Baba has been emphasizing a lot, even in the last few day’s sakar murlis, ‘Forget the body, bodily relations and the whole world’. So first, I have to see that I don’t have attachment to my body and that my body does not hold my intellect, whatever the reason may be. Even if the body is going through deep pain, or some disease, I become bodiless, going beyond pain and everything.

I am detached from the body and bodily relations, but this means I am both loving and caring but detached. Also, I am detached from the physical world. I take support and cooperation from people, material objects, everything, but I am not dependent upon anything and nothing pulls my intellect. If I have them, I am happy and if I don’t have them, still my intellect is not pulled to when, how or where to get them from, etc. There is that total detachment and I remain the observer, whatever is happening. I am looking at it, I am knowledgeful, but I have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything, looking at them, knowing, and yet, beyond everything.

As I become a knowledgeful soul, my karma will also be elevated and that will help me to become light, for unless I am light, I can’t have powerful yoga. Baba always talks about being triple light. He talks of the soul as point of light, the light of knowledge and lightness in karmic accounts. Because I have a burden of karmic accounts, (if I have done any vikarma after being in gyan), naturally, I will feel heavy and then I can’t fly, so Baba not only says be light, but be a lighthouse. As much as I have that awareness of being a lighthouse and being a might-house, naturally, my yoga will be powerful.

I have to have that awareness of going beyond the mundane world and beyond the role that I am playing in the world, because usually the role that we are playing here pulls our intellect. Some people are pulled down a lot by their lokik jobs and some people are pulled down by alokik service. Because we give so much importance to the role that we are playing, that role-consciousness will not allow us to be soul conscious. And that’s why, when I have the awareness that Baba is Karavanhar and I am just karanhar, then naturally I won’t feel heavy, because if I think I am doing it, I must do it, I must do it this way, then naturally I will become heavy. When there is the awareness that this is Baba’s job, Baba is getting it done and I am just instrument, then I will maintain that lightness.

Tapasya: the power of determinationWe should really appreciate the hatha yogis who do a lot of penance to keep awake. Sometimes, because Baba says it is easy yoga, we become too easy and that is what I have to be careful of - not to allow myself to relax too much. I should not tell myself, ‘I am tired’ for if I say I am tired, Maya will catch hold of me. Just say, ‘OK this is the time for me to earn my income’. Have that real determination that I must be in a powerful stage, and not make easy yoga too easy. I have to be alert, open-eyed, in a powerful stage and sit in an alert position.

3

Page 4: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

In bhakti, people used to sit with crossed legs – lotus or half-lotus with hands stretched and back straight. Really, we need to pay attention on alertness of the mind, the body’s position, as well as the climate and temperature around us - neither too hot, nor too cold, otherwise it will pull the intellect. Baba was saying that when you conquer nature, you will conquer Maya – we have to conquer both. The body is also known as the elements, fire is elements and climate is also of the five elements, and that is where I have to see that they do not pull my intellect. Nature will be subservient to us in the Golden Age, but here, we have to go beyond - beyond everything. Make ourselves comfortable, but not too comfortable, be an easy yogi, but not too easy, Be relaxed, yet alert. We need to maintain that balance. If life is balanced, then naturally, we can maintain alertness.

Amrit Vela When somebody has only three or four hours sleep at night and they expect to be a very powerful yogi, it is not possible. One night is OK, but if every night there is only four hours sleep, then how are we going to have that powerful yoga? Baba says, ‘Be sensible, be knowledgeful about that also – about how much rest the body needs. Look after the body’. Do not say, ‘OK, I am soul, I don’t need anything now!’ Baba always says to have that balance. Baba always used to say during big projects like “Million Minutes” and “Global Cooperation for a Better World”, ‘OK, you must have five hours sleep at least’ (Because sometimes those who where working in the office used to work until midnight and miss Amrit Vela). We have to see that we have a minimum five hours rest - early to bed and early to rise. Go to sleep early and then you can get up early and have that powerful yoga. In order to have that powerful yoga, we also need to have love for solitude and love for silence, because some people can’t do anything alone - they like a crowd around. If they are alone they say, ‘I am lonely.’ Brahma Baba used to say, ‘OK, go on the terrace in Pandav Bhavan, be by yourself and enjoy that solitude and meditation’.

If we have love for solitude and love for silence, whatever time we have, we will grab a few minutes here and there, (and even if we don’t have time, we have to find time). We have to see that we don’t miss traffic control, and if we can’t have traffic control at the right time, we should try to create time during our work schedule, because sometimes we say we are so busy that we don’t have time, but we have to find time. Every opportunity we have for meditation, we should take that and really work on ourselves because if we have that real urge to do meditation, then naturally, we will organise something. I remember a couple of years ago, Dadi was saying that if you want to remove your deep-rooted sanskars, have 40 minutes of yoga three times a day for 40 days.

Baba also has been emphasising a lot on tapasya and so there should be that urge and desire to work on ourselves and find time; otherwise in our lokik job we are too busy, in Baba’s service also we are busy, and then we neglect ourselves. That is where I have to see that I must have that aim, not only to sit in yoga, but to have that deep yoga, and for that, whatever I have to do on a physical level, I have to pay attention. If we eat late and have a heavy meal, then naturally, there will not be powerful yoga the next morning.

That is why the tapaswis, the yogis, do a lot of fasting. In bhakti, they do a lot of fasting. We don’t have to cook and eat and do shopping and all sorts of things on particular days, but at least we should have that discipline of eating the right amount of food at the right time. Baba does not tell us to do all that penance, but at least maintain discipline, so that also, on a subtle level, we pay attention to Baba’s shrimat and not be slack.

Maintaining the disciplines to create the fiery formSometimes, as we become older and senior in gyan, we become slack with Baba’s shrimat, and that is where I have to see that I am not becoming slack. I realise the value of Baba’s directions and disciplines and I follow them thoroughly. We should start with a powerful Amrit Vela, because that is the time when Baba says, ‘I have got time for my children’. We should not only spend Amrit Vela, churning gyan and having heart to heart conversation. That is what we used to do in early stage - churn gyan and have heart-to-heart conversation. That is good to start with. But now we have to have the aim to spend more time in seed stage, because that’s powerful yoga – being a point of light and being merged in loving remembrance of Baba. We have to see that we spend as much time as possible in that incorporeal seed stage and that is the real fiery form of yoga – the seed stage. That will be possible when we have paid attention throughout the day, because if we are slack throughout the day, Amrit Vela will not be powerful, even if we want it to be.

Have the routine of going to sleep in Baba’s remembrance and before sleep, have meditation and have the determination that tomorrow morning I have an appointment with my Beloved. Have the aim that I should be in Baba’s remembrance and if that deep aim and determination is there then, naturally, Amrit Vela will be powerful, because our last thought will lead to our first thought. When you go to sleep, rather than having a thought, ‘Oh I am so tired tonight’ and thinking about what went wrong in the whole day and then going to sleep. Instead go to sleep with the thought, ‘I am going to sleep in Baba’s

4

Page 5: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

lap’ or ‘I am going to sleep in the subtle region' to be with Baba. Make the first thought in the morning ‘I am coming from the subtle region to play my part’.

That will help us to have that angelic consciousness first thing in the morning and will also help lead us to the seed stage easily. Otherwise, if you think that ‘my body is tired today’ we start with thinking about the body and the whole day’s activity. Then we start the day with (as in the lokik sense) ‘Oh, there are so many things to be done’. We start churning on service and jobs to be done and then it will take a long time to have that elevated stage. When I wake up, that is the time for me to be with my Beloved, rather than, ‘this is the time to plan my service for the day.’ This is the time for me to get inspiration - not just inspiration, but this is the time for me to receive that might from the Almighty. So pay attention to the basics that is the basic and fundamental things. If we are building our stage on those fundamental basic teachings, then, naturally, the building will be very powerful and strong. If the foundation is not very strong, the building will not be powerful.

So, what is my role? It is to have that total surrender to Baba. Surrender my body, my wealth, my time and energy – everything is Baba’s. So the whole day say, ‘Baba, Baba, Baba’, rather than ‘I’ and ‘mine’. As much as I have that deep love for Baba, naturally, I will be in that powerful, fiery stage.

Developing experiences for Volcanic remembrance”Brother Atam Prakash 14.10.04.

Second part of class titled ‘Difference of Churning and Remembrance’

First experience: powerful soul conscious stage Second experience: visualize and experience Baba’s powerful form in Paramdham Third experience: true heartly love for one Baba only Fourth experience: complete happiness and concentrated focus on Baba Transferring our consciousness towards Baba The importance of churning as a foundation of the day Easy yoga: letting Baba be responsible

According to the time and to Baba’s signals, our yoga must be powerful. We must develop the experience of volcanic remembrance. In deep volcanic yoga we can communicate easily with Baba and as a result of that, we may have very good, very powerful yoga with Baba. Churning is light yoga, when you are thinking about Baba… Oh how Baba is… the Supreme Being, Sun of Knowledge, Ocean of Purity, Peace and Happiness. This is churning and on the other hand, this is also yoga, but this would be very light yoga, it is not volcanic yoga. For burning sins we need to have powerful yoga and when we are having powerful yoga in Paramdham with Baba, there won’t be any more churning, because you will get deeply lost in that powerful yoga.

Through yoga, we are experiencing love on one hand with Baba, but on the other hand, we must also experience power from Baba. From that Unlimited Source, we must experience unlimited powers from Baba. Baba said in the last season that we have to become BapSaman. We must be full of the virtues, qualities and powers, because He would really like to use us to reveal Himself. If we would really like to become BapSaman, we must transform our negative sanskaras and for transforming those negative sanskaras, we really, really need to have powerful yoga, that is, volcanic remembrance. Only that type of yoga can burn our sins after which we can become BapSaman. If you would really like to have the experience of volcanic stage of yoga, you need to have the experience of four things. If you develop the experience of these four things, gradually your yoga will be powerful.

First experience: powerful soul conscious stage* First aspect: We need to experience very deep and very powerful soul conscious stage. What does that mean? It means sitting in solitude and visualizing ourselves in our true form with the eye of the intellect and being in that stage deeply; we can experience a deep soul conscious stage. At the end, Baba was totally detached from his body and was having full soul conscious stage, 100 per cent soul consciousness, zero percent body consciousness. We need to develop percentage-wise, the depth of soul consciousness. Powerful soul consciousness means I am a master almighty soul or I am

5

Page 6: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

master sun of knowledge. Being in such a type of consciousness, we can experience powerful soul consciousness. I am a master almighty soul, master sun of knowledge, radiating spiritual energy all around me. Just develop that practice. Enjoy that real, royal, true soul consciousness.

Second experience: visualize and experience Baba’s powerful form in Paramdham* Second aspect: We need to visualize and experience Baba’s powerful form in Paramdham. We must understand Baba’s personality, how He really is. When Arjuna had the vision of God, he described his experience that the form of God was much more powerful than thousands and thousands of physical suns. Why did he say this? Why did he describe it like this? This physical sun is only for this physical world - it only radiates physical energy in this physical world, but the Spiritual Sun, Baba, is so powerful that He is radiating His spiritual energy throughout the three worlds constantly. He is the Purifier. When we are in His Company, our sins are burning. He is the unlimited source of spiritual energy. We must visualize clearly and experience that powerful form of Baba in Paramdham for getting the experience of the volcanic stage of yoga.

Third experience: true heartly love for one Baba only* Third aspect: We need to have tremendous love for only One Baba. We must transfer our true heartly love towards One Baba only. We must not share our love with any physical being or physical thing, because in this Confluence Age, our true heartly love is an invaluable treasure. It is only on the basis of love that we can have powerful yoga experiences, because love is like a magnetic power. When we have tremendous love for Baba, then we feel that Baba is in front of us, very close. That is why we must gradually transfer our heartly love towards Baba for getting powerful experiences in yoga. We must sit in solitude and check where our intellect is going. Is there any place where my intellect often goes? If my intellect is going somewhere, it means there is attachment with somebody. We must check and change. We must transfer our intellect towards Baba and transfer that love towards Baba, because the loveful stage of yoga can transfer into a powerful stage of yoga. As much percentage of love that we have in yoga that is how much powerful yoga we can experience.

Fourth experience: complete happiness and concentrated focus on Baba* Fourth aspect: For experiencing volcanic remembrance, our mind and intellect must be full of joy and happiness and then the meeting with God will be extraordinary; it will be wonderful. It would be a unique meeting with Baba. For that, we must experience self-respect all day long. We must keep on sitting on the throne of self-respect, only then can we have joy and happiness in our Brahmin life. Day by day, the percentage of intoxication and happiness must increase higher and higher. The intoxication of that happiness takes us beyond this physical world into the soul world or subtle world. Only based on joy and happiness, can we experience full, undivided concentration in yoga. This is very necessary for having that type of powerful stage of yoga – full concentration. The amount of concentration that we have in that process, to that extent, it would be a powerful process. Our eye of the intellect must be fully focused and concentrated on Baba, and then we will definitely get a very powerful experience of yoga, especially at Amrit Vela or evening yoga, but we must check and develop that concentration power.

Transferring our consciousness towards BabaIn the future, many things will pull and attack our intellect and in that situation, if we have very good concentration power, then we will easily be able to maintain consistency in yoga. How do I know that my yoga is improving? “I have been practising this yoga for 10-20 years or however many years, so how can I check?” When we are sitting in yoga, our consciousness is distributing. Suppose in yoga my consciousness is 20 percent in Paramdham or in subtle world, it means 80 percent consciousness is here in this hall. I must transfer this consciousness, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 per cent there and zero here. That is the destination of yoga, full consciousness for full time. While sitting in yoga we are having thoughts in our mind, but when our mind becomes thoughtless, i.e., very still, calm, and cool, we can experience a really powerful stage of yoga known as seed stage or volcanic stage of yoga.

As much as we are transferring our consciousness towards Baba, that much our yoga is increasing and becoming powerful. Our third eye, the eye of the intellect, the eye of the soul, must be fully focused on Baba and then gradually we will experience a powerful stage of yoga. Through knowledge, we are getting light and through yoga, we are getting might from Baba. As much as the intensity of light is increasing in our intellect, that much our yoga becomes powerful and constant. Full knowledge and full soul consciousness means having full-time yoga or constant yoga with Baba.

How do we know whether our sins are burning through yoga? Whatever sins we have committed in Copper and Iron Age, those are in the soul in the form of negativity. When we are receiving pure energy from Baba, the negativity is disappearing. It means, at a subtle level, sins are burning. Understand? The intensity of receiving that energy must be

6

Page 7: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

maximum and powerful and when we are receiving that unlimited energy from Baba, the negativity is disappearing. Then after that, we will feel very light and free from burden. Happiness and intoxication are increasing and this is the result of the sins burning. As much as you are becoming free from those sins, you are becoming lighter and lighter and lighter. This is a very subtle process.

The importance of churning as a foundation of the dayKnowledge is a theory and yoga is the practical form of that theory. Knowledge is a process and yoga is the practical fruit of that process. That is why we must develop our churning as well as our yoga. They are in correlation with each other. In 1986, I was meeting BapDada in the Meditation Hall. Before that, I was developing and working on my churning power and getting good success. I was also writing articles for magazines. In that meeting Baba said to me, “You are clever in churning, and now use this churning power in the subject of knowledge and yoga”. Since that blessing, I have experienced many times, that I get special gifts and touchings from Baba. When we are getting special touchings and gifts from Baba, that gives us tremendous joy and happiness and that really improves our yoga.

Every day we must sit in solitude and churn on Baba’s murlis. We must fill ourselves with the power of knowledge. Murli is Baba’s property and we can make that property our property through churning. We can become the authority of Baba’s knowledge through churning. We can become master oceans of knowledge. If you want to sustain very good yoga throughout the day, you must experience freshness and alertness during the day. If you remember Baba’s points of knowledge and churn that knowledge, you can easily experience freshness in your life.

When we are listening to the murli, at that time, we must select some points from the murli that really touch our heart. Select the points of murli and sit in solitude. When you are sitting for churning, your mind and intellect should be free from everything. You just focus your mind on that particular point or aspect. For instance, churning on the perfect stage – focus your attention on that and keep asking different questions on that aspect. What is meant by perfect stage? How would my perfect stage be? What sort of qualities and powers would be there in my life? Keep on asking different questions on different aspects and automatically you will get a response or answer to that, then just note it down.

Another method of churning is to just go to Baba like a small child. Shiv Baba is in Brahma Baba’s body, you are also in a subtle form, and you just ask questions to Baba: “Baba, what does it really mean by the perfect stage? How can I achieve that perfect stage? What sort of obstacles would be on that path?” Baba will give a response to you. There would be nice conversation between you and Baba and whatever response you are getting from Baba, you just write it down. This is also a method for churning. Gradually you can refine this process of churning. You can get more and more clarity in that churning.

Easy yoga while you are busy: letting Baba be responsibleBrahma Baba became 100 per cent soul conscious. Shiv Baba was in his body. For 14 years, he was in tapasya. Double foreigners have only more recently come to know Baba. We have our lokik work, lokik family and Baba’s service and every year we have to look for money to come to Madhuban. So, how can we attain zero percent body consciousness and 100 per cent soul conscious?

Double foreigners were meeting BapDada in Om Shanti Bhavan in ’88 or ’89. 1,200 double foreigners were in front of Baba and someone asked a question to Baba. “Abroad we are very busy – lokik and alokik responsibility, running and rushing throughout the day and at night we feel exhausted. At Amrit Vela, we feel drowsy and sleepy in yoga. We are really very busy. How can we maintain such an elevated stage like Brahma Baba?”

Baba was smiling and said, “The busiest person in this world is Brahma Baba.” He had the biggest responsibility but whilst carrying out that responsibility he was very light and easy. Because of that easy nature, Baba was having very good yoga with Shiv Baba. The secret of that is that while remaining busy, we must experience easiness.

This is an art. I asked this question to Dadi-ji when I was writing an article. I asked her, “I’m always observing your face to be very light and easy like a small baby – always smiling, never tension or stress. You are in charge of this Yagya and running thousands and thousands of centres. What is the secret of your lightness, just tell me.” She said, “I am always

7

thinking that Baba is responsible. I always put the responsibility on Baba’s shoulders, and then I experience lightness. I am not responsible, Baba is responsible. On one shoulder I experience Shiv Baba, on the other shoulder I have Brahma Baba, and they are helping me as the supporting forces. That’s why I am always experiencing lightness in my life”.

If your mind and intellect is really light, then you can have connection with Baba really easily. Understand? Busy but easy. We are busy and in the future, we will be extremely busy, but in that situation also, we must maintain constant link with Baba. For that, we must experience lightness while carrying this lokik and alokik responsibility and then easily we can maintain that elevated stage.

Om Shanti.

Introduction: Attaining the Volcanic Fiery Stage of Yoga

Introduction to Section TwoVolcanic Fiery stage is when I, the soul, am full, complete and perfect and I touch the light of God. What will that lightning be? Fiery form the consciousness of the body is totally dissolved, only the point is left, the point and the Point, soul and Supreme Soul. When the two points touch, that is the fire. So you can imagine God’s power. When Arjuna said, after having that vision, “Oh I cannot bear this heat, please stop,” it means that the intensity of the heat, that power can destroy so much impurity in the world. It can cleanse the five elements of matter, and it can reach out to every corner of the world, in no time.

Attainments of the Fiery Stage : Conquering Maya: this fiery form of yoga will burn our impure karma and sanskaras and that fire is so powerful that Maya will not dare to come in front of us That is what is called the fiery form.

Stages that lead to the Fiery Stage of Volcanic remembrance: If you would really like to have the experience of volcanic stage of yoga, you need to have the experience of different stages of yoga in a powerful form. These stages are not necessarily one after the other but will be experienced at different times according to what the soul needs at the time:

The following stages and topics will be discussed in this section as a way of developing a Volcanic Fiery Stage of Yoga.

1. Full concentration: For creating a fiery form of yoga have concentration and determination of our mind and intellect. The amount of concentration that we have in that process, to that extent, it would be a powerful process. Our eye of the intellect must be fully focused and concentrated on Baba, and experiencing the wonder of Baba.

2. Bodiless Stage: Throughout the day, we are practising the bodiless or incorporeal stage because that is the next step of our soul conscious stage.

3. Soul conscious stage: the Sparkling Star: a very deep and very powerful soul conscious stage, I visualize myself as a sparkling star in the centre of my forehead.

8

Page 9: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

4. Seed Bindu point stage: It is a very, very powerful stage where you have Baba and only Him. There are no thoughts of service, no plans, nothing. This is what we call ‘the point stage’, ‘bindu’.

5. Angelic Stage: I am visualizing the emperor of angels, experiencing love and purity in relationship with the perfect Brahma Baba combined with Shiv Baba in Brahma’s angelic form.

6. Natural remembrance of all relationships: I have to work on my remembrance in the form of relationship. It should be natural and so deep, that I have all relationships, all attainments from one Baba, so that I reach a stage of tapasya. Only One: I am able to maintain that stability, where I am able to remain lost in the love of One with no attraction, pull, or influence.

7. Intense love for God: melt the body consciousness to such an extent that I merge with the One, in love, loveleen

8. Master Almighty Powerful Stage: visualize and experience Baba’s powerful form in Paramdham

9. Incorporeal Stage: My consciousness is in the soul world and I am so surrounded by Baba’s vibrations and power that I am not pulled to any mundane, material things. To be in that incorporeal stage means that you are not taking anything from the world. Just as a seed is ready only when it stops taking from the tree.

10. Master Sun: power of silence stage: The deep silence stage means my total world is Baba. It is the final pillar that I have to touch. ‘Baba, Baba, Baba’. For this, we need to practise a deep, deep stage of silence.

11. Lighthouse and might house stage: is when you plug into Baba the Satellite and stay there and the power of the rays of light and might will spread out as a lighthouse and mighthouse.

12. Karmateet stage – stage of liberation in life

13. World Benefactor Stage

Dadi Classes The volcanic stage Dadi Gulzar – Om Shanti Bhavan, Madhuban – 30/1/06

Baba recently talked about the volcanic form in the Murli and somebody asked what the volcanic form is. To make our stage of remembrance very easy, Baba has given us the four lines (lakeer). Just as Sita was told not to step outside of the line, in the same way Baba is telling us not to distance ourselves from these four lines of remembrance.

The first stage of remembrance is to separate yourself from body consciousness and become soul conscious. Suppose you don’t have enough power to remain in soul consciousness, then the second stage is to churn the jewels of knowledge and make your mind powerful. When we churn the points from the Murli, blessing, or slogans, this will stop waste thoughts emerging in mind. Third is to have a heart to heart conversation with Baba. If you are unable to have yoga or there is some disturbance in between, then this stage is very useful. If you become a little busy in having heart to heart conversation with Baba, then other things are forgotten and there won’t be any waste thoughts.

The last stage is a powerful stage and that is the seed stage. Think of a seed. A tiny seed is filled with all its potential - in the seed there are leaves, flowers and fruit; all are merged within the seed. According to time, all emerge. In the same way, the meaning of ‘seed stage’ is to become stabilized in the form of all the powers. Seed stage means to stay in the authority of all the powers. There should be the consciousness and awareness of all the powers in an emerged form. You should have the experience of all the powers that, yes, all these powers are contained within me. This is the seed stage.

The volcanic form is just same as the seed stage, but the most important thing in this is to be stable in the form of a lighthouse and might house. We have to be stable in the light of all our powers - none of the powers should be missing!

The definition of lighthouse is to give light to others. A lighthouse doesn’t think that it should give light; you just turn on the switch of a lighthouse and it automatically starts giving its light. In the same way, volcanic form means to be able to

9

Page 10: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

stay in the authority of being master almighty authority. At that time there is no heart to heart conversation with Baba or churning the jewels of knowledge nor is there the consciousness of ‘I am a soul; I am a soul’, every now and then. However, you are stabilized in the experience of being an almighty authority of all the power in a seed form and radiating light like a lighthouse. When you become a lighthouse there will be no thoughts that I am giving light because the job of the lighthouse is to give light.

The volcanic form is a very powerful stage. To become a lighthouse and might house is a stage of authority. There is the experience of light and might, of all knowledge and the light and might of all the powers within me. When we become the form of that stage and stabilise ourselves in the seat of lighthouse and might house, then that is a volcanic stage.

When we stabilise in that stage then automatically all the souls of the world will receive that light. A lighthouse doesn’t need to think whether I am giving light or not giving light. There won’t be any thoughts. The job of the lighthouse is to give light. The volcanic stage is the most powerful stage in which we are also able to burn our old sanskars. We will have this volcanic stage if we check every now and then, am I really in the awareness of the form of light and might house?

Senior’s Classes and Meditation Commentaries

“EXPERIENCING VOLCANIC STAGE OF YOGA”Class by Sister Asha

12.02.06

Number 1: Keeping focused attention. Number 2: Developing a deep sense of unlimited detachment.Number 3: Bodiless Stage.Number 4: Fiery stage.

As we near the final time, the efforts on the part of we children also become intense and fast. For the last two years, Baba has been giving us signals, when the final curtain comes down, it could be at any time. Baba has been telling the children, ‘You have to be in an ever-ready stage’. Everything that happens will happen all of a sudden. If we are prepared to face that final moment we will go happily. Otherwise, there will be repentance. As experienced and good students of Baba, we do not want those moments of repentance. All of us wish to pass with honors. If, in front of our own Father, we have to bow our heads, it won’t look nice.

So, for the final preparation, one of the things that Baba has spoken about is intense, fiery yoga through which we will be able to finish our past accounts and also achieve simultaneously, a Grade A1 stage of the soul. Yoga of intense remembrance, the fiery stage, is the only stage through which we clear our past sanskaras. How do we achieve it, what is it? The fiery stage is the stage when you just have a thought, and you are that. It is like switching on the stage in an instant. To be in this stage instantly and for a long time, requires certain precautions, exercises and attention.

Number 1: Keeping focused attention. No doubt, when we remember Baba, we remember in various ways. He is my Father, He is my Teacher, He is my Satguru, He is my Friend, and so on, but in the fiery stage, the total focus has to be that He is my Purifier. Instead of spending time churning gyan, instead of spending time in experiencing Baba in various forms, my total focus is that He is my Purifier. When you want to purify something in a fire, two things happen. Firstly, the alloys get separated, and secondly, whatever we put into the fire becomes of better quality. Similarly, in the fiery stage, what are the alloys? Not just the five vices because they have now all become very subtle in nature. Now the alloys are our own sanskaras - the personality traits, the habits, for which we say ‘They are my nature’.

If I am focused and the real desire is there to achieve that stage, then, easily I would be able to achieve that stage. The times are gone when we used to sit in meditation and remind ourselves that, ‘I am a soul, I am a point of light, a child of the Supreme’. Those days have gone. That is nursery or kindergarten meditation. Now, soul consciousness means to be in those virtues and qualities and our original nature, which is the soul. That is soul consciousness. To be wise, to be knowledgeful, to be powerful, to be peaceful, to be silent and to be above all bodily bondages - this is soul consciousness.

When I live and am in this consciousness, then automatically my mind is free from all the waste. Frankly, those days are also gone where we can say, ‘Oh, they are waste thoughts’. Instead of making efforts to remove waste thoughts, it would

10

Page 11: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

be better to focus on the stage of soul consciousness, which does not mean. ‘I am a soul, and the other one is also a soul’. Soul consciousness simply means being and behaving in the stage of the original qualities of the soul.

I am reminded of a story from the Mahabharat. All the pandavas were being taught archery and Arjuna was the one who stood out in this art. Once their teacher wanted to test all five pandavas. He had placed one small straw bird on a tree and he asked all the pandavas to focus on that bird, and then shoot the arrow. Before they picked up the bow and arrow, the teacher asked, ‘What are you seeing?’ They variously said, ‘We are seeing the tree, we are seeing a bird, we are seeing you, or we are also seeing our brothers here’. The teacher would say, ‘OK, don’t shoot the arrow come and stand on the side’. Then Arjuna came, and his teacher asked ‘What are you seeing?’ Arjuna’s reply was, ‘I see the centre of the eye of the bird, nothing else. I am not seeing anything except the centre of the eye of the bird’. Now the teacher said, ‘Yes, go ahead’. He picked up the bow and arrow and was able to pierce the eye of the bird.

I hope you get the meaning behind this. As long as we are seeing many, many things around us, we will not have that focus, the inner desire, the inner aim that I have to achieve it that I have to totally purify myself. I have to clear all my accounts and reach that satopradhan stage. When this is totally clear in my mind, it is only then that I will be successful. Presently, apart from this, we have 101 other things also. But now the end time is drawing closer. So just as when children have to appear for the final exams, they stop going out, they stop seeing movies, they stop wasting their time and they focus their attention. Similarly, to achieve that fiery stage it is essential that I withdraw myself from everything else.

You remember that one of the 8 powers is the Power to Withdraw. In the picture, depicting the power to withdraw the turtle is withdrawing from the entire world. He is concentrating and re-energizing himself. Similarly, make use of this power. This means saying no to all those things that are non-essential. Just as we have a slogan, ‘Say no to drugs’, similarly, say no to all those thoughts and all those things which are non-essential. Why should I feed my mind with extra information that is of no concern to me? If I have information, my mind will work on things that are of no use to me, no concern to me. Why should I get all that information and for what? Should you ask about things that do not concern you directly? Suppose I am not going to the North Pole, Antarctica, and I simply ask, ‘How do we go there, what happens there?’ Even this is waste. My attention has been diverted – its of no use. Saying no to what is non-essential has to become a natural habit. This will save me a lot of time and energy.

I learned this lesson from Dadi Janki when I was with her in Zimbabwe nearly 23 years back. There was one particular toli that I wanted to learn that a mother had made - a very special kind. Dadi said, ‘Don’t waste your time because you will never make it.” I said, ‘Dadi, let me learn at least’. Dadi and I went to the mother. She taught me. I wrote down the notes, and you know, surprisingly, I gave those notes to someone and they never came back to me, so I have never made it. Waste! There are so many things that we do. If I am able to withdraw from all these things, all that time and energy can be given to make my stage powerful.

Number 2: Developing a deep sense of unlimited detachment. It is easy to be detached from material things - very easy. It is easy to be detached from the sanskaras of others. But very, very deep and subtle efforts are needed to detach myself from my own sanskaras, and this is one of the biggest hurdles. Trying to achieve the fiery stage without total detachment is like lighting a fire with wet wood. Similarly, if, in my own sanskaras, there are certain things that I like to keep with myself, then that fiery stage can’t be achieved. If I am not detached and I make efforts to be in the bodiless stage, it is not going to happen. I may please myself by saying that I was practising bodiless stage, but I will not achieve that stage. And if you recall, Baba has drawn our attention towards the practice, the exercise of bodiless stage. Remember? He always says, ‘Children, now become bodiless’. This will be possible only when I am totally detached.

Number 3: Bodiless Stage.Enjoying means, I still want to remain in the world. So how can we have the bodiless state? Generally Brahmins say, ‘Sister, we do experience the bodiless state, but we do not remain in that state for a long time’. If I have a desire to take from the world, I cannot be bodiless. We remember that our Dadis used to tell us, ‘If you have any interest in the world, if things of the world interest you, it means your stage is not yet ready’. To be in that incorporeal stage means that you are not taking anything from the world. A seed is ready only when it stops taking from the tree. If it is taking from the tree, the seed is not yet ready. A ripened fruit doesn’t take anything from the tree. Similarly, if the things of the world, anything; corporeal, incorporeal, nature, anything of the world interest you, it means you are not yet ready. When you see something very beautiful and you find enjoyment it means you are not yet ready. I am enjoying the natural beauty, enjoying the different kinds of things of the world; you are taking from the world. In the fiery stage, I do not feel anything. There is only one thing constantly occurring in my mind, ‘I’m to return'. I’m to return home’.

11

Page 12: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

Number 4: Fiery stage. The fiery stage means my total world is Baba. It is the final pillar that I have to touch. ‘Baba, Baba, Baba’. For this, we need to practise a deep, deep stage of silence. The more we are in the stage of silence, the more clearly we will be able to see ourselves. The world that I have to return to is the world of silence. Baba says, ‘Children while you are in company, silence does not mean just keeping quiet, but it also means silence in my thoughts and silence in my words. Whenever I am speaking, what do I speak? The practice of silence disciplines my thoughts; the practice of silence disciplines my words and the practice of silence disciplines my behavior. Such words come and I say well I did not mean it. Whatever is in the mind comes out through the mouth. The quality of mind can be seen through the quality of words. My words and actions mirror my mind and my personality.

The fiery stage requires being in the stage of silence as much as possible. This morning Baba said karmateet means unlimited outlook, in the stage like that of Baba. So I think we need to work more on the preparations. When this background is ready and these preparations are done, when I sit in meditation to be in this stage, it becomes easy and instant. It is a very, very powerful stage where you have Baba and only Him. There are no thoughts of service, no plans, nothing. This is what we call ‘the point stage’, ‘bindu’. And you know, the point stage is a very, very powerful stage. But to be in that stage needs a lot of preparations. Just as before sowing a seed, we prepare the earth, remove all the weeds, plough the field and then we sow the seed.

Similarly, to be in that stage requires all this background preparation. Then we can remain in that stage for a longer period, because there are no pulls and I am totally detached. Why are we not able to be in that stage for a longer time? Because we still have strings and we are being pulled by various things. When there is no one at home and you are not speaking with anyone, you are silent, but I would not call that silence. Purposeful silence is that you are in company, and yet you remain silent. The power that we need for this purpose is the power to withdraw. Whenever you find time, withdraw yourself and try to experience this stage. This is what our Dadis do. Last time when I met Dadi Janki, I found that for one minute she wanted to be in silence. Dadi Gulzar also. They are doing much, much more work than we are doing, but then they still find time for themselves.

In India, we compare this process of burning sanskars through fiery stage to the sun’s rays going through a magnifying glass. Because the sun’s rays are focused and concentrated, they burn the paper. Similarly, when we are focused and concentrated Baba’s power burns our past accounts. We feel light, happy, intoxicated super-sensuous joy, a stage of bliss. So number one, what do we need? Focus. Number two, unlimited detachment and disinterest. And third, the practice of the incorporeal stage, the bodiless stage and fourthly the stage of silence. I think it should be called conscient silence. Let us have, for half an hour, a deep, deep stage of silence and try to experience this volcanic stage of yoga.

Om Shanti.

“CREATING FIERY FORM OF YOGA”Class from Madhuban by Sr. Meera (Undated)

One: Concentration and determination of our mind and intellect Two: One and only One Three: Sadhana – making effort without taking support of physical or subtle facilities Four: melt the body consciousness to such an extent that I merge with the One, in love, loveleen Lighthouse and Mighthouse stage

After coming to Baba’s knowledge we often hear about three words; yoga, tapasya and sadhana. Of course, the word yoga can be understood and practised in different ways, but if I want to create a fiery form in my yoga practice, then I need to understand and practise yoga. Not just create a connection, a link or communion, but to go deeper, to practise in the form of relationship, which then becomes remembrance. Instead of just having a kind of static experience, connection or union, it then becomes relationship and is used in the form of remembrance. Then that remembrance of Baba becomes easy and anything that is easy becomes constant and anything that is constant becomes natural.

The first important aspect before we even think of creating that final stage, the fiery form, is to make my relationship with Baba natural so that I don’t have to labour. Up until now we are still labouring because we are playing the game of forgetting and remembering, and that is why we have to say, “OK, let us remember Baba”. So what was I doing before

12

Page 13: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

that, remembering somebody and something else? However, when that remembrance becomes natural, then the feeling comes that not only am I remembering Baba constantly, but the remembrance becomes troublesome! Have any of you ever experienced Baba’s remembrance to be oh, so troublesome, I can’t forget Baba! Can you tell me some methods to forget Baba?” Of course, we all have had experience of that kind of remembrance every now and then, but that should be my stage when the remembrance is not just coming, it’s not just natural, but it also becomes the kind of remembrance where you cannot be separate.

Sometimes Baba says that some children even disturbed Baba’s sleep! They remembered Baba so much that Baba had to give a response to their remembrance. What that means is that Shiv Baba had to wake Brahma Baba up and give them a response, no matter what time of the day or night it was. So, first I have to work on my remembrance in the form of relationship. It should be natural and so deep, that I have all relationships, all attainments from one Baba, so that I reach a stage of tapasya.

The word tapasya comes from the Sanskrit word “tap” and the word “tap” means “heat”. So tapasya is a heating process, and it is not that you “love” Baba, but you are “in love”. There is a difference between “loving” Baba and “being in love”. That means my love for Baba is exclusive and there is no one else. It is not just thinking, “One Baba and none other”, but I am lost. I am so lost in Baba’s love that I create that fire of love in my heart. In the lokik world, when there is love between lover and beloved, they experience that kind of fire of love in their heart. They feel like the person whom they love is constantly in front of them, no matter what they are doing. So, my yoga should take the form of fire. That is why, when we translate the word “tapasya”, we say “intense meditation”, meaning continuous and uninterrupted. That is why it is important to make my yoga easy and natural so that it becomes continuous and uninterrupted.

In the olden days, they said that when the rishis and munis used to do tapasya in the cave they never let people know that they were sitting there, but the vibrations of their tapasya, the heat and the vibrations of purity used to reach far and wide. People used to trace where there was a yogi sitting somewhere and they would walk according to the vibrations of their tapasya and provide food and water for them, because they never asked anyone to provide anything. The vibrations of tapasya, the purity emitted and the rays of light were so strong that they were able to attract people towards that place of tapasya.

Baba said this morning – that we need to become great tapaswi souls. Not even just tapaswi, because there are many tapaswi souls, hatha yogis, who sit in the cave and go into the forest with force and determination and they will attain something. Dadi Manohar was sharing that they make up their mind to stand on one foot for so many hours and they just do it, so there are many tapaswis who do such kind of sadhana. However, what Baba wants is for us to become great tapaswis, that is, tapasya based on understanding.

So according to Baba, what is tapasya? It is not sitting in Baba’s room for 8 or 24 hours. Sometimes Brahmins misunderstand the word “bhatti”. It is a form of tapasya because you put yourself in the furnace, but that does not mean that you have to be sitting in one place. Of course, to some extent, to discipline ourselves for some time it is OK, but to be in that stage of tapasya, to become an image of tapasya, does not mean that we are sitting in one place. We hear the experience of the Dadis that they had tapasya for 14 years, so does that mean that they never did any work, or ate food, or slept, or didn’t do anything? They did everything. Baba gave them all kinds of training during that time, but they did tapasya with understanding.

One: Concentration and determination of our mind and intellectOne of the definitions of tapasya for creating a fiery form of yoga is having concentration and determination of our mind and intellect. This is why, during all the murlis of this season, Baba has been emphasizing a lot on this exercise – the power of concentration, because without concentration we cannot experience the fruit of tapasya. Just as when the rays of the sun are concentrated through a convex lens, if there is paper below the lens, it is burnt. So tapasya means concentration and determination. Of course, determination is not to be stubborn, because sometimes people misunderstand determination to be stubbornness.

The second definition of tapasya is actually to have one stable stage, maintaining consistency in one stable stage in all situations of upheaval. It’s not that because you are doing tapasya, all situations will be in favour of you, no. However, even though the situations are chaotic and in upheaval, you maintain one stable stage. That is why, in hatha yoga, they have copied what we have done – one stable stage but that of standing on one foot or fasting. Standing and fasting is effort with force, but we do tapasya with determination.

13

Page 14: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

Two: One and only OneA second aspect of tapasya is also connected with concentration, “One and only One, no other”. That means connection with One and only One. That is why, in Hindi, Baba calls it “eknami”, economy, which is what tapasya is. I should be able to do this kind of tapasya at all times, not only whilst sitting in one place, but my Brahmin life should become a life of tapasya, where I am able to maintain that stability, where I am able to remain lost in the love of One with no attraction, pull, or influence. I am able to maintain total concentration and determination in all tasks that I perform, not just in meditation but in everything I do. When I’m able to maintain consistency that is called instant meditation. When there is consistency in these practices, then I create that fire.

Some volcanoes are dead whereas some volcanoes are active, which means that the temperature of the lava it throws off is so powerful that it can destroy things from a distance. That means that that heat was created inside over a period of time. It is not that I just sit in meditation and say that I want to create a fiery form. I cannot do that, because it is a practice that I need to do over a period of time. The heating process is consistency in my relationship with Baba, consistency in maintaining that stable stage and maintaining all relationships with One. When these things are maintained consistently over a period of time, you have already started to ignite the fire.

So, what Baba said was that when all of us have ignited this fire within ourselves then together, in the form of a gathering, when we have one thought, this fiery form will help to transform the world in no time. If one volcano becomes active, it can destroy so much. So if we practise this kind of yoga, even for one hour, how many rays of light and might, peace and love, can we spread out into the world? So, I practise individually, and then we come together collectively.

Three: Sadhana – making effort without taking support of physical or subtle facilitiesIn order to create the fiery form I also need the third aspect, “sadhana”. “Sadhana” is translated in English as “spiritual endeavor”. All the situations are not always in our favour and all the facilities are not available. So sadhana means to be able to maintain that tapasya stage without taking the support of any physical facilities. As we continue to become more and more yogi, that is, the more renunciation we have, the more the objects of matter and facilities will come to surrender themselves. Sadhana means not to use those facilities more than I need to, because when I take advantage of the facilities that come to me as a result of my yoga, I become happy and get used to that, addicted to that. I cannot then become the fiery form, because my yoga becomes dependent on the facilities.

That is why I was giving the example of the tapaswis in the Copper Age. They never ever asked anyone to provide anything for them, but they had so much renunciation and on the basis of that, were just lost in their aim. They were brahm gyanis and had connection with the element of light, but even then they were so determined that none of the facilities attracted them. Even the harmful animals around them were able to be tamed on the basis of the vibrations of their purity. You can imagine, and they did not even have yoga with God. When we have direction connection with Baba, the Source of Wisdom, the Source of Peace, the Source of everything, we should be able to feel ourselves so full that the feeling of wanting something should not arise. Not just when I am sitting in yoga, (of course, not at that time anyway), but during my whole Brahmin life, that should be my dharna.

Baba said this morning that if you have any limited desire to get a little name or fame, or to get something, you lose out in your power of tapasya. The power of tapasya is gone. The rishis and munis, they say, used to do tapasya for so many years and God wanted to test them, so they used to close their eyes and He would come and bring something - an attractive woman, an attractive fairy, so then their tapasya was broken. They were attracted with their eyes closed. They had not conquered the vices naturally, they had suppressed them, and so all of their tapasya was finished. They were attracted to those images that were brought to them to test their tapasya. When we move into the practice of sadhana, the facilities are an attraction for us and they will really come and make us subservient to them.

If not physical facilities, then subtle facilities will come, such as a little bit of position, name, fame, praise, and appreciation. That is why Baba said in one of the murlis, because you are weak in the subject of yoga when you do service, it is due to lack of unlimited disinterest that there are obstacles. This is because the consciousness of ‘I’ and ‘mine’, so the physical and subtle facilities will come to extinguish that fire. It is the test of a yogi whether we have really conquered matter.

To create the fiery form of yoga, the first and foremost important dharna that we need to have is an attitude of unlimited disinterest. Without an attitude of unlimited disinterest, we cannot be successful in our sadhana. Everything is there, but there is no attraction, no inclination towards anything. If I don’t have anything and say that I have unlimited disinterest,

that is not anything great. I’ve got everything but still, I don’t have any pull or attraction. The first dharna that is very important is to create this powerful stage.

Four: melt the body consciousness to such an extent that I merge with the One, in love, loveleenIn the fiery form of yoga, (which means it’s like a ball of fire), the consciousness of the body is totally dissolved - me and Baba merged in love, “loveleen”. That is the fiery form – lost in love. The consciousness of the body is totally dissolved. In lokik life they say, ‘ignorance is bliss’ and so what is the actual meaning of this expression? It means that when I become ignorant of my body and worldly desires, it is bliss. The fiery form of yoga is a blissful state where you are totally beyond the sense of touch, sound, taste, smell. It is easy to go beyond the sense organs. But when I go beyond the sense that is when I know the consciousness of the body is totally dissolved. That is why they say that the pandavas, after they won the war, melted on top of the Himalayas. That is the experience of us now, to melt the body consciousness to such an extent that I merge with the One, in love, loveleen. That is when you feel yourself to be a ball of fire in the unlimited.

Baba said this morning, that just as the physical sun gives light, together with light, it gives many other attainments. When I’m in that stage of total bliss, totally merged in love, when the consciousness of the body is totally dissolved, that is when I am in the unlimited sending out those rays of light and might. It’s like sakaash to the whole world, like a spiritual sun. That is what is necessary now, Baba said, because the souls in the world today are beggars. Not beggars for anything physical, but beggars of peace, happiness and power. When we are in that stage and hold on to that stage as long as we want, in the form of a gathering, it can do wonders. That is when we become the image of visions and Baba can give the vision of our angelic form, our perfection, our form of completion to others. We can say it is a God-like state.

Lighthouse and Mighthouse stageWhen we are in the soul world, there is no difference between the soul and the Supreme Soul because the soul has become the master, like God. It’s only when I come down to play my part and enter the body that that difference comes. So it is the climax, that closeness when you touch the light of God, hold it, and through God, like a satellite, send out that power into the world. Baba is the Satellite, so the fiery form of yoga is when you plug into the Satellite and stay there and through Baba, the power of the rays of light and might will spread out as a lighthouse and mighthouse.

For that, I need to practise, in my normal life, determination and concentration, so I can hold onto that stage as long as I want. The reason that we cannot hold on to that stage is that we have not created that stage on the basis of our own spiritual endeavor. We have created that stage because we’re in an atmosphere or because we are in the company of certain souls, but I need to create an attitude of unlimited disinterest from the heart so that nothing and no one can pull me. Purity plays a very, very important part in creating this fiery form. Anything that is lacking in purity will not allow me to plug into the Satellite, to ignite that fire.

Fiery form is when you feel you are totally in the unlimited; your foot of the intellect is totally lifted beyond with total ignorance of the body. It’s like two lights and when the two clouds come together you have lightning, so when these two souls come together you can imagine what can happen. I, the soul, am full, complete and perfect and I touch the light of God. What will that lightning be? That is what is called the fiery form. It is so powerful that not only does it spread out, but it actually transforms me completely. You can call it spiritual radiation that actually kills every vice, every trace of vice within me too.

Just as in the Copper Age, we became ignorant of the consciousness of the soul, so in that fiery form the consciousness of the body is totally dissolved, only the point is left, the point and the Point, soul and Supreme Soul.

Points for 8 hour Sunday Bhatti

1. You have to become the bestowers of fortune and become tapaswi souls. Do such tapasya that the flames of tapasya give one experience or another. Let them not just hear words, but also give them an experience. Experience is immortal. Words are just words; they are liked for a short time, but they are not remembered permanently. There, become an authority of experience and give an experience. 25/3/2005

2. You need to increase the power of concentration. Even now, many waste thoughts come although you may not want them to come. Sometimes the side of waste thoughts is heavier than the side of pure and elevated thoughts even now.

15

Page 16: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

Therefore, tapasya means the end of waste thoughts because it is the end of waste which will then bring in perfection. Without bringing an end to waste, there cannot be perfection. 10/1/91

3. The easy and constant foundation of tapasya is unlimited disinterest. To have unlimited disinterest means to leave the shore from all four sides. Why? Because you have made the shore your support. Due to this support, you become loving according to the time. At the appropriate time, according to shrimat and according to the signals from the instrument souls, in one second the intellect should become detached from loving. In regard to this, you don’t become detached as quickly as you become loving. You are clever in becoming loving. But in becoming detached, you think twice about it, and also for that you need courage. 13/12/90

4. Tapasya means to belong to One. This is what BapDada calls remembering only One (eknami). Tapasya means to stabilize (ekagra) the mind and the intellect. Tapasya means having the love for being in solitude (ekant priya). Tapasya means to maintain a constant (ekras) stage. Tapasya means to be safe from wasting all the treasures that have been attained, that is, to move with economy. It is the lesson of ‘one’. Is the lesson of ‘one’ difficult or easy? 13/12/90

5. In the New Year, burn your old sanskars in the fire of yoga and become number one in renunciation, tapasya and service, like Father Brahma. 31/12/2005

6. Mama, please give a signal of how to become the form of power and how one can stabilise in that stage. … At such a time, you need the canopy of protection from Baba. Those who remain under the canopy of protection will remain safe… Mama showed me a scene, just as they show the umbrellas behind the kings and emperors. There was an umbrella like that, but this was of light and above it was Shiv Baba. He was going around in all directions and throwing His light in all directions. The light has many different colours on which were written: Peace, love, power… each virtue, and power were written on these. When I experienced being under them, it felt as though I had all the powers in me, and instantly I experienced coolness and peace etc… There was no sound, no fear, no anything…. When we imbibe and sustain the powers and values that Baba has given us, there will be safety for us in that. Mama said: Take this gift from me and give it to everyone and tell them to use it at the right time. 23/6/05 Avyakt BapDada Message

7. …attraction to this old world has been reduced a little. The attraction to old relationships has also been reduced, but for the majority, the burden of old sanskars still remains. In one form or another, whether through the mind – there aren’t impure thoughts in the mind – but the percentage of the sanskara of waste thoughts is still visible. It is also visible in your words. In relationships and connections too, one sanskara or another is still visible…. So today, together with congratulations, BapDada is giving all the children this signal: this sanskara that still remains will deceive you at some time. And at the end too it will be an instrument to deceive you. Therefore, today, have the cremation ceremony of the sanskars. 31/12/2005

8. Just as you kill Ravan, and you don’t just kill Ravan, but you also burn him. In the same way, you make effort now and then to kill sanskars. They [the sanskars] become a little unconscious, but because they are not burnt, they awaken every now and then from being unconscious. For this, to have the cremation ceremony [sanskar is the final ceremony when a person dies] of the old sanskars, pay attention with determination to burn them in the fire of yoga in the New Year. 31/12/2005

Volcanic Fiery Stage Meditation Commentary(This has also been recorded and can be found on the World Volcano Meditation Commentary Series CDs: Volume One)

Track 1 (9 minutes 17 seconds)Om Shanti. Let me stabilize myself in my true identity. I am a Brahmin. Baba I am your child, your long-lost and now found Brahmin child. Time has come full circle. I am ready to once again be your helper in your wonderful task of world transformation. I am no ordinary being. I am awake. Baba you have found me, taught me the great secrets of the ages, and you have guaranteed my golden future for 21 births. I am your golden child.

I feel your loving thoughts directed to me, such a feeling of closeness to you Baba.I hear your invitation:

16

Page 17: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

Child, come and meet me in the subtle regions, in one second. Yes Baba, I’m here. Where are you? I can’t see you yet, but I can feel your energy and I am drawn into your presence, like a needle to a magnet. There you are Baba, and here I am before you in the beautiful subtle regions. Baba, your loving drishti is towards me, how lovingly you gaze upon me, with such pure pride.

Baba, I see that you have emerged all my Brahmin sisters and brothers here too. 900,000 Brahmins have all been summoned here. A circle of love, the highest clan gathering together in the highest Sangamyug.

Baba, in the middle of our divine circle I see you have placed a yagya, a sacrificial fire, and I am the keeper, the guardian. The protector of the flame. I am responsible for this flame, I am keeping the flame alight. What will I throw into the fire to keep it burning? What will I sacrifice into the flame?

Baba, you have asked me if I can hear the cries of my brothers and sisters. Let me be aware of those cries now.

Take away this pain.God, where are you?Help me, GodMy God, where are you?Take away this suffering. Please God, I beg you, take away this pain, help me.

Baba their cries are getting very loud now. They don’t know who God is, or what God does. They don’t know that this is the time of settlement. You have entrusted me with this knowledge Baba.

Track 2 (4 minutes 13 seconds)The scene is changing and we Brahmins are now standing together in a circle on a mountain top. In the middle of our circle, there is still the yagya, the flame burning brightly, on the highest point of the mountain. Baba you are getting your work done through this yagya. This is not just a mountain, it is a volcano. There is powerful energy within this volcano.

Baba, you are reminding me of my memorial. The pandavs melting into the mountain. This is my memorial.

Baba, I’m watching you now as you reach into the yagya flame – and catch hold of a single spark of fire – and I can feel the energy as you place this tiny spiritual flame on my forehead.

Baba, I know I am light, not matter, I know the body in which I currently sit is not me, just a temporary identity, I know I am an eternal flame. I can let go of this body without fear. I focus my awareness on the living spark of light that is me, and the awareness of this body melts into the mountain.

Track 3 (12 minutes 57 seconds)Now what remains? I am now part of a circle of living lights. Powerful souls gathered around the mouth of the volcano. It’s very intense, this volcano. The red heat, the red fiery heat will remove the impurities of the soul.

Am I ready? Am I ready to burn the vices? Or do I want to keep them a little longer? My body has melted into the mountain so this heat will not hurt me. This is spiritual fire, it will help me. It will remove the alloy, the mixture, the impurities. Baba, you are the source of this fire. This fire is you.I’m ready. I am a victorious jewel, pure gold, and I am ready to enter the volcano.

I place myself into the intense fiery red … I take myself deep within the godly fire. Intense power here. Enough to remove the impurities in the soul. I am in the fire of intense yoga, intense tapasya.

63 births of body conscious impurities must now finish. The sanskaras of the middle period must go. Must be sacrificed to the Godly fire.

Burn lust. Indulgence in the sense-organs … desires … impure behaviours … impure thoughts … consuming another soul’s life-force. Burn lust. Sacrifice lust to the flame.

Burn anger. Rage ... violence ... force ... power over others ... control ... aggression ... annoyance … bossiness. Burn anger in the sacrificial fire. Burn anger.

17

Page 18: PRACTICES TO ATTAIN VOLCANIC REMEMBRANCEbrahmakumaris.com.au/volcano/VT1 upload to internet... · Web viewI have to attain a brahm stage, that is, I have to go beyond everything and

Burn greed. Emptiness of the soul ... need ... want ... selfishness ... comfort ... me first ... Burn greed. Burn attachment. Possessiveness ... ownership ... my way is right ... trapped in the illusion of permanence ...

trapped by subtle threads that bind me ... like … disklike ... expectations … it should be like this ... they should change, not me. Burn attachment.

Burn ego. My name ... my position ... my role ... my sanskaras ... my nature ... my realization ... my self-destructive beliefs ... I’m better ... I’m not good enough ... I’m great ... I’m nothing ... I me mine ... I me mine. Remove the alloy. Burn ego. I me mine … must finish … just Baba. My Baba.

Track 4 (4 minutes 56 seconds)Now, let me rest. The intensity of the fire is subtly transforming to the familiar soft golden-reddish glow. Soul world. Cooling light. I’m suspended in an atmosphere of love. With Shiv Baba. Receiving your rays Baba. You are the eternal, blissful living light. And I’m floating in the stillness. So nurturing. Resting in Paramdham, my home. Resting in my eternal sanskars. Peace. Contentment. Freedom. Purity. Love.

Track 5 (3 minutes 43 seconds)Loveleen atma, come and meet Baba in the garden.Oh Baba, what a beautiful garden. The light. The colours. Everything is sparkling with pure love. This is the world I’ve longed for. A place that reflects my original sanskaras. I’ve never seen such pretty butterflies. I love the way they land on my fingers. And these roses. What perfume! And what a beautiful shade of pink. Baba, this rose is for you.I am so fortunate. I can never thank you enough for everything you’ve given me Baba. I love you Baba. Let me lose myself in your loving drishti.
