FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York Mets Name New CEO

New York, NY. December 4, 2013. The New York Mets announced Jonathan Huberdeau

as new Chief Executive Officer of the organization earlier today. Huberdeau replaces Arnold

Donahue, who was relieved of his duties on Monday. Huberdeau worked his way through the

ranks in various organizations, starting as a talent scout for the Tampa Bay Rays and most

recently as the president of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Huberdeau is returning back to the city where he was born in 1964. The Brooklyn native

grew up a Mets fan and attended college at Florida State, where he played four years of baseball.

As a student athlete, Huberdeau was hired right out of college by Tampa Bay to scout young

talent around the Tampa area.

Huberdeau will bring knowledge and confidence to the Mets, along with an impressive

track record. Two years ago, the Brewers won their first division title since 1997 and went to the

National League Championship Series. Milwaukee accomplished this impressive feat while

operating on the fifth lowest payroll in the league. Huberdeau has finished fifth or better in

voting for the top CEO in Major League Baseball every year since he obtained the status in 2008.

The Mets are excited to see what Huberdeau can do with an organization that has seen

attendance fall for a third straight year and one that is competing with its cross town rivals New

York Yankees for local recognition. Huberdeau has never had two straight years with a decrease

in attendance numbers.

Huberdeau is already a prominent figure in the New York area, donating an elementary

school named in honor of him to a Brooklyn neighborhood back in 1994. With Huberdeau at the

announcement was his wife of 26 years, Heidi, his 21-year-old daughter Jesse, and his 19-year-

old son Nick.

The New York Mets are a proud organization established in 1962. The Mets pride

themselves on excellence and resilience, as their two memorable championships have proved.
